Show University Opera Opens Tryouts On January 14 Campus singers will have an opportunity to try out for major roles in the next Pioneer Memorial Memo-rial Theater Little Theater opera production at auditions this week. A R D E A N W. WATTS, who will direct "Voices for a Mirror," an operatic satire on TV soap operas, is looking for a baritone and a mezzo soprano, both of whom must be students. Auditions will be conducted Jan. 14 between 6 and 8 p.m. on the main stage of Kingsbury Hall. Mr. Watts emphasizes that he is searching for trained voices. "VOICES FOR a Mirror," by Meyer Kupferman will appear on a double Little Theater bill with another short opera, "Gallantry," with music by Douglas Moore and libretto by Arnold Sund-gaard, Sund-gaard, Feb. 16-20, with a matinee mat-inee Feb. 20. |
