Show Music Fest Prepares Programs ! The University summer music programs will be conducted this . year by three guest conductors and three members of the Unl-' Unl-' versity faculty. THE GUEST directors who will be in Utah especially for these summer programs are Dr. Elaine Brown, recognized as one of today's great choral directors; Dr. Stanley Chappie, conductor of major British, European, and American orchestras; and Donald Evans of the University of British Columbia, who will con-iuct con-iuct a special "Principles of Teaching Music' course for high school teachers. The Summer High School , Music Clinics will be evening i programs this year with section rehearsals from 6 to 6:35, full rehearsals from 6:45 to 8:30, recreation, rec-reation, socializing and talent night performances from 8:45 to 10. THE HIGH SCHOOL Clinic Chorus, directed by Dr. Elaine j Brown, is scheduled for June 1 through June 12, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Dr. Brown has served on the faculties of the Juilliard School of Music, "Westminster Choir College, Temple University, Univer-sity, and the School of Sacred Music of Union Theological Seminary. She is now devoting full time to the famous Philadelphia Phila-delphia Singing City program. |
