Show Olpin OK's Ruling On U. Housing A regulation which would remove re-move from approved University housing lists, names of landlords land-lords who discriminate on the basis of race, religion or color was approved last week by the Management Council and presented pre-sented to the Board of Regents by Pres. A. Ray Olpin as the new University policy. George Pugsley, University Civil Rights Commission chairman, chair-man, made the announcement over the weekend, said the bill will be "student controlled." THE RESOLUTION will directly di-rectly affect all women living in off campus housing and all men living in a house that was advertised on the housing board at Ballif Hall. This means if a student g'-ts an address of a house from the housing lists and is refused the right to live there, and he feels the reason he was based on his color, creed or religion, he can appeal" to the University. If the owner is found guilty of discrimination, his name is taken from the approved housing lists. i |
