Show . F.Kennedy Library Many of us in the academic world remember Pies. Kennedy as the ycung intellectual from Massachusetts. Mass-achusetts. w,o believed government, like any thing e!.-e, vciild be run on a rational basis. What better way then to preserve his memory than to establish tli'- John F. Kennedy Library in the late President's hometown of Boston. This library, to be constructed on a site chosen by Pres. Kennedy himself, will be built from funds contributed by citizens throughout the nation in his memory. Its purpose is to further one of Pres. Kerm-i Kerm-i edv's deepest concerns -his. continuing attempt to bring together the world of ideas and the world of affairs, the world of scholarship and the world of decision. IT WILL SERVE as both a monument to the memory of the late President and as a repository for the history of his life and administration and as an active force for the perpetuation of his ideals. Spontaneous requests by college students on ni3ny campuses have resulted in the organization of a rational student committee for the proposed library. This drive affords the opportunity for students to express their own respect for Pres. Kennedy in a tangible way. Students on this campus are urged to participate in this drive by sending their contributions contri-butions to Union 265. Contributions can be made by either individuals or groups. Checks should be made to ASUU Kennedy Memorial Library. This drive will continue until May 2.', at which time the money collected will be sent to the fund in Boston. |
