The move to coeducation is in line with an emergency series of proposals to meet an enrollment crisis within the City University next year. The University, of which Hunter is a member college, is expected ex-pected to adopt measures such as larger lecture courses, extended class day, increased summer school program and Saturday Classes in order to meet an unprecedented 15 rise in hieh school graduates. THE PROPOSAL to make Park Avenue Hunter co-ed, however, is the only one to have been announced an-nounced as already effective. The girls at Park Avenue 6eem to speak unanimously in opposition to the change, and "Ban the Boys" buttons adorn innumberable sweaters sweat-ers on campus. The outside world, however, is looking askance with a bemused attitude at the "girls who don't want boys." Even Park Avenue's Av-enue's sister (or brother) campus in the Bronx can't understand why all the furor. |
