Show BEAVER COUNTY BOY SCOUTS HAVE OPPORTUNITY TO ATTEND JAMBOREE I During July, 1957, Scouts and Explorers from all over America will gather for a thrilling experience the Fourth National Jamboree. Scheduled for the 12th through the 18th c.t a historic shrine where General George Washington camped with his soldiers during the winter of .777-78, this promises to be the biggest and best Jamboree ever held. work, maturity, and the boy's ability, in the opinion of the screening committee, to take back real values for the Scout troop and the community. Rating Rat-ing each boy from 1 to 10 on each of the above items would provide an applicant and an alternate, taking the two highest. high-est. District Commissioner Sherman Sher-man W. Carter of Beaver, who has expressed a desire to go as a leader from Beaver County, and who attended the Jamboree in California in 1953, has complete com-plete information on the Jamboree Jam-boree to be held at Valley Forge, and applications must be in to the Council office in Provo not later than Nov. 10. Vote Tuesday The Jamboree Trek alone will ' be a marvelous eyperience, for the Utah National Parks Council Coun-cil contingent will pass through or stop at several of the nationJs largest cities, including Denver, Chicago, Buffalo, N. Y.; Rochester, Roch-ester, New York City, Philadelphia Philadel-phia and Washington, D. C, as well as other lesser-known but interesting cities across the nation and on the Eastern Seaboard. Sea-board. The Boy Scouts will have opportunity op-portunity to gaze at the tallest building in the world, visit the I fabulous Merchandise Mart in ' Chicago, the largest department I store in the country; or see base ' ball games with the World J Champion Yankees competing. Side trips also are numerous, and will add to the thrill of at- tending and being a part of the j Jamboree at Valley Forge. Top boy leaders in Scout troops and Explorer posts across the nation, and in Utah, are j being developed to make it pos-I pos-I sible for boys of the troop tc attend.
