Show Dr. Davie to Erect Building for Post Office Construction of a new building build-ing on Main Street to house the Milford Post Office will be begun be-gun "in the immediate future," according to Dr. Eugene Davie, whose bid" to furnish post office quarters has been accepted by the Post Office Department. A sheet-iron building in the 400 block on Main Street will be demolished to make room !for the new building, Dr. Davie 1 said. Present cement walls will be reinforced and used, and a cement block and glass front with large double door probably prob-ably will be recessed to permit planting shrubbery between the wall and sidewalk. The new post office will contain con-tain a large foyer and every convenience for the patrons, Dr. Davie said, as well as a rear loading ramp for receiving and dispatching mail and large customer cus-tomer packages. Completion date has been set for May 1, 1957. |
