After playing Monte Carlo - whist, refreshments of shrimp salad and a cold drink were served. MR. AND MRS. KINGSLEY P. VARLEY announce the engagement en-gagement of their daughter, Sharon LaRue, to Mr. Kenneth L. Pcdersen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lars A. Pedersen of Salt Lake. The ceremony will be preformed pre-formed Friday, July 20, and the newlyweds will be feted at a reception the same evening in the Reception Centre, Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Myers spent the week end in Salt Lake visiting their children. Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Slinkerd have returned to Milford to make their home, after living in Arcadia Calif., a few years.. FRANK G. LEWIS claimed Miss Janice Hoskin as his bride in a ceremony performed Friday. Fri-day. President A. George Raymond officiated in the Logan Temple rites. Scene of a wedding breakfast following was the Bluebird in Logan. It was hosted host-ed by the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph J. Hoskin of Wellsville. In the evening the newlyweds greeted guests at a reception in the Wellsville Second Ward. The bridegroom is a son of Mrs. Ben Lewis of Milford. In an exquisite gown of lace and nylon tulle, the lovely bride greeted reception guests. The fitted bodice of the gown has a pointed collar and long pointed sleeves. A lace overskirt opened in front, accenting a pleated tulle panel. A small cap released the short veil of sheer illusion. Attending the bride were Miss Norma Hoskin, maid o'f honor; Mrs. Keith Newman, Miss Charlene Hoskin, Miss Bertha Ber-tha Hoskin and Mrs. Leon E. Paice. They wore nylon dotted Swiss frocks, in green, lavender and melon shades. Muriel Blackner and Cathy Hoskin were petite flower girls. Stanley Lewis performed duties du-ties of best man for -his brother. Ushering were Keith Hoskin, Darwin Hoskin,. Clarence Hoskin Hos-kin and Edward Hoskin, al) brothers of the bride. As the newlyweds departed for a honeymoon to Yellowstone National Park, the bride wore' a rose sheath dress with match' ing accessories. They will make a future home in Salt Lake. Attending the wedding and reception from Milford were Mrs. Ben Lewis, Mrs. Kenneth Hollis, and Mr. and Mrs. Claude Goodwin. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Merry-weather Merry-weather returned recently from an enjoyable two weeks vacation vaca-tion to Yellowstone Park, north to Lake Louise, Victoria and Vancouver in Canada, where they took an interesting ferry ride back to the United States. They continued the tour to Portland and down the coast to San Francisco. They were accompanied ac-companied by Bert's parents, of Provo, and Bob and Linda visited vis-ited their grandparents in Helper Help-er while Mr and Mrs. Merry-weather Merry-weather were away. Maj. and Mrs. J. S. Hughes aijid two daughters Connie and Cheryl have returned from Cha-nute Cha-nute Air Force Base and will spend a 'few days in Milford with Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Hughes before returning to Castle A F Base, Calif. Their two sons, Dale and Ronald, stayed with their grandparents while Maj. and Mrs. Hughes were in " the East. Mrs. Betty Hancock and daughter Karen Kay, of Denver, visited with her mother, Mrs. John Killam, and two brothers, Cecil and Bob, last week. They returned to Denver on Wednesday Wednes-day and Mrs. Killam accompanied accompa-nied them as far as Salt Lake, returning Saturday. HONEYMOONING in Yellowstone Yel-lowstone National Park are newlyweds Mr. and Mrs. Clark H. Wright. June 29th the pair exchanged wedding vows' in a candlelight ceremony performed by Elder Gael Elmer of Milford, at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward W. Morris. The bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Wright o'f South Milford. The bridal pair greeted guests at a reception in the First-Third First-Third Ward chaptel following the ceremony. The bride wore a ballerina length gown of white embroidered net over satin. The fitted bodice was topped by a . matching long-sleeved long-sleeved jacket with, tiny pearl buttons. Her finger-tip veil of bridal illusion was held by a bandeau of orange blossoms and seed pearls. She carried a bouquet bou-quet of white and red roses. Miss Shirley Green, a niece of the bride, was maid of honor, with Roxie Paramore and Joan Jones as bridesmaids. Robert Wright acted as best man for his brother. Mrs. Ruby James and Mrs. Wanda Holm made and decorated decor-ated the lovely Wedding cake. SATURDAY, July 14, Mrs L. G. Clay and Mrs. L. A. Wy-naught Wy-naught met at the home of their long-time frined, Mrs. Foutz, to help her celebrate her birthday. The afternoon was spent reminiscing rem-iniscing and talking over old times, and Mrs. Foutz displayed her beautiful Roman cut-work. Mrs. Ruth Lish and two of her daughters, 2V month old Lesa Dawn and Launee, of Salt Lake, were here Sunday thru Wednesday calling on old friends. She was a house guest of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Merry-weather. |
