Show LA RUE VARLEY SENDS GREETINGS TO COUNTY POLIO DRIVE CHAIRMAN Dear Max: I was thrilled to receive the Milford News March o'f Dimes edition. Needless, to say what memories it brought back of last year's campaign. What responsibility re-sponsibility and hard work, but everyone was so wonderful and generous in their support; it was certainly worth while. I am happy to see you still at the helm as Beaver County chairman, and Steve contributing contribut-ing his fine support. It look. as though you have everything well organized. I certainly wish you all success. The University of Utah was 'granted some $85,000 for future fu-ture polio research. It is remarkable re-markable what medical science has accomplished in the past few years, but all the money in the world cannot erase the heartbreak, the physical and emotional readjustment anyone having this disease must make. Happy to say Sharon is constantly con-stantly improving. She goes swimming once a week with other polio victims, through the Red Cross. Due to new muscle response, Dr. Kezerian wishes her to consult a therapist in Salt Lake therapist once a week, with renewed hope of doing away with her bracei perhaps in six months. With or without an operation, only time will tell. We feel that Sharon's case should be referred to the Salt Lake Chapter for future support. sup-port. Words cannot express the thanks- and gratitude in our hearts to all the people of Milford Mil-ford for their friendship and help in our past illnesses. ' Please accept the enclosed small contribution toward your goal. Success and good wishes to everyone for your '56 March of Dimes Campaign. LA RUE VARLEY. $ |
