Show ! milford hospital gets grant from ford foundation The Beaver County Hospit -al at Milford will receive a $10,000 grant from the Ford Foundation "to supplement and encourage the efforts of the American peopla in meeting meet-ing problems affecting the progress of the nation. More than 500 million dollars will be given to various public and private pri-vate institutions during the comng year, accordng to Ford Foundaton spokesmen. Included will be Utah hospitals hospit-als at Dragerton, Fillmore, Milford, Mil-ford, Park City, Tremonton and Payson, outside the metropolitan metropoli-tan area, and Brigham Young University, St. Mary of the Wasatch Wa-satch and Westminster College, both at Salt Lake City. According to Jackie Williams, hospital superintendent, and Dr. D. A. Symond, hospital board chairman, it is hoped to use the $10,000 Ford Foundation grant as the nucleus of a fund to add a new wing to the present hospital. hos-pital. "We consider our facilities at the hospital adequate for present pres-ent needs," Dr. Symond said, "but we are badly in need of more room. Of course it will be a matter to be decided by the hospital board, but we hope to be able to use this money to art a fund for additional room at our hospital." A total of 200 million dollars is being given non-profit hospitals hos-pitals throughout the nation. |
