Show BERTHA HICKMAN LAID TO REST IN MILFORD Graveside services were conducted con-ducted here at 3 o'clock Wednesday Wed-nesday afternoon for Bertha V. Skillicorn Hickman, former Milford Mil-ford resident, who died at her home in Salt Lake City Saturday, Satur-day, Dec. 10th, following a stroke. Funeral services were conducted con-ducted in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Hickman was born Nov. 8, 1888, in Nephi, a daughter of Richard C. and Elizabeth Burton Bur-ton Skillicorn. She married Des-eret Des-eret N. Hickman in Salt Lake City on Dec. 23, 1907. This marriage mar-riage was later solemnized in the St. George Temple, May 18 1933. Her husband died on Dec. 5, 1943. Thirteen children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Hickman, 11 of whom survive: Mrs. George Nowcrs, Mrs. Stanley Voorhees, Mrs. Evelyn Brannon, Mrs. Jim Armstrong, Mrs. Ferris Thurston, Thurs-ton, Mrs. Leon Smith; Sherman Hickman, Pioche, Nev.; J. Richard Rich-ard Hickman, Sacramento, Cal.; James P. Hickman, Orem; Hubert Hu-bert A. Hickman, Springville, and Gerald Hickman, Norwalk, Cal. Also surviving are 31 grandchildren and eight greatgrandchildren; great-grandchildren; seven sisters and three brothers: Ness Lockhart, Ida Goddard, Zella Summer-hays, Summer-hays, Florenle Rollins, Vada Haslam, Lorene Mantle and Lu-cile Lu-cile Roxbrogh, and Herbert Skillicorn, all of Salt Lake City; Henry Skillicorn of Park City, and Alvin Skillicorn of Milford. Mis. Hckman had been afflicted af-flicted for some time with high blood pressure, and died from a stroke on Dec. 10th. She was a member of the Relief Society and was greatly interested in genealogical work. She had been living in Salt Lake City since moving there from Milford in 1949. Out of town relatives here for the graveside services included Mr. and Mrs. Bert Lockhart, Mrs. Lorene Mantle, Mrs. Zell Summerhays, Mrs. Ida Goddard, Haywood Rollins, Byron Haslam Has-lam Sr. and Byron Haslam Jr., all of Salt Lake City. |
