Show Items of Interest About People You Know MRS. P. W. SC11ENK of Wenntehee, Wash., announces the engagement of her daughter, daugh-ter, Viola, to A 1 c Jerry L. Goodwin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clrrk. Goodwin of Milford. The wedding will take place in the Salt Lake L D S Temple on August 23rd. Jerry is stationed at Edwards Air Force Base in California, and Viola is teaching school at , Bakersfield, Calif, MRS. WILM A WESTON act- ed as hostess for her bridge -'uh last Monday night. Leah Pullem, Mrs. Ina Norton, Mrs. Fern Burbid:e, Mrs. Norma Yount, Mrs. Sclma K:rk, Mrs. Ruth McWhorter, Mrs. Melba White, Mrs. Alice Elmer and her sister, Mrs. Marie Edwards of Salt Lake. Prizes were received by Mrs. Burbidge, Mrs. Norton, and Mrs. White. A luncheon was served by Mrs. Weston. MRS. IDA SMITH had as her gusets her pinochle club members, mem-bers, Mrs. Patricia Stewart, Mrs. Dorothy Grimshaw, Mrs. Elnore Murdock, Mrs. Barbara Mayer, Mrs-. Barbara McGinn, and Mrs. Beulah Wunderlich, and two guests, Mrs. Betty Davis Da-vis and Mrs. LaRue Turner. A dinner was served first, after which the ladies played pinochle. Mrs. McGinn, Mrs. Turner and Mrs. Murdock were the prize winners. THE MARRIAGE of Miss Zella Martenson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bart Martensen ' of Parowan, and Mr. Darryl Schramm, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Schramm, will take place in the SI. George Temple on June l!Uh. A reception will be held thai evening in the Second L D S ward church at Parowan. The couple wi'l live in Milford Mil-ford tlrs summei. MARGARET ROOT becanu sweet sixteen on Monday, June (ith. A tacos party was given by her mother that evening in her honor. Games and treasure hunt participants included Susan Williams, Colleen Ilutchings. Re-nee Norton, Sally Edwards, Dick Bolton, Boyd Horton, Mack Whittaker, Arden Fou les, Leland Beard, Jennie Sue Snvth. Gary Weston, Marion Lofthouse, Douglas Memmott, : Joyce Alger, Gary Bedingfield, 1 Margaret Turner, Mike Mc-Knight, Mc-Knight, James Cox, and Georgia Geor-gia Beth Smith. A surprise of the evening was I when Mr. Root played back a recording of the conversations of the evening. j The R. J. Magills are on a vacation trip. Mr. and Mrs. George Baxter have returned to Milford after spending the winter in Ashland, Oregon. Mr. and Mrs. LaMar Grim- ', shaw have moved into their : new home, formerly owned by the R. C. Hedricks. Returning home, they attended at-tended the Homecoming at Cal- I iente, and left their son Stan-1 Stan-1 ley for a week's visit at Panaca. Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Hughes are enjoying a trip to Portland. Oregon, to visit their son and j family, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace j Hughes. They will also attend . a family reunion in the north-j north-j ern part of Utah. Mr. Hughes j will attend summer school at !
