Show SEVENTH-DAY ADVENT GROUP URGES RED CROSS TRAINING I Seventh-day Adventist church members were urged to step up their Red Cross first aid training train-ing program by denominational leaders meeting in Cleveland. Ohio, last week for their annual autumn council. Since first aid training was launched eight months ago as a part of the church's civil defense de-fense program, 8,000 members have completed junior, standard or advanced courses. The program pro-gram also produced 85 accredited accred-ited Red Cross instructor-trainers and 400 instructors. A $5,865,400 expansion program pro-gram for the church's medical .school, the College of Medical Evangelists, passed the council. The project includes $750,000 for the establishment of a dental den-tal school on the Loma Linda, Cal., campus of the medical college, col-lege, and a $2,300,000 hospital building and other facilities for the Los Angeles division. The Adventist medical school, which is fully accredited by the American Amer-ican Medical Association, supplies sup-plies doctors, nurses, dietitians and technicians for the church's 106 hospitals and 57 clinics thruout the world. |
