Show jfirst Marb By ALMA SLY F-on'l forgel ihe Carnival io be held August lOih. The Relief Society held its work meeting Aug. 8th. Two quilts were tied and carpet rags were sewed. Luncheon was served to 12 members, and an enjoyable time was had by all. The next work meeting will be the second Wednesday in September. The Beaver Stake Relief Society So-ciety Convention will be held August 15th. All visiting teachers teach-ers are urged to attend. Meet- ing will be held at 2 p. m. A number of Firjt Ward members gathered with the Second Sec-ond Ward for Fireside after meeting Sunday evening. They enjoyed pictures shown of New Zealand by Mr. Bill Tribole, also handicraft of that, country. In Sunday School last Sunday Sun-day opening prayer was by Larry Edwards, Sacrament gem, Blaine Nichols; 2V2 minute talk, Lucille Ferguson; song by boys' trio, Darwin and Jay Cbnstensen and Leslie Barton, a', companied by Mrs. Edna Nichols. Deacons were Monty 4.shworth, Russell Sly, Neil Smith and Gary Weston. In Junior Sunday School, Allenn Thorrell gave the opening open-ing prayer, Gene Norton the Sacrament gem; poems were read by Toni Lynn Kiser and Charles Williams, and the deacons dea-cons were Vee Wadsworth and Clark Grimshaw. At Sacrament and testimony meeting Sunday evening three babies were blessed: Russell James, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lane Frazer, was blessed by his grandfather, James E. Muncey; Rodger Wayne, son of Mr. and Mrs. Willard Thorrell, was blessed by his father; and Stephen Perry, son of Mr. and Mrs. Perry Olsen, was blessed by his father. A very interesting testimony by members was given. Deacons Deac-ons were Larry Edwards, Dar-rell Dar-rell Schramm and Rusell Sly. I Primary preparation meeting '-as held Tuesday evening at 'he home of Dorothy Terry Tho3e present were Edna Nich-' ols, Wanda Munk, Irene Griffiths, Grif-fiths, Rowena Hardy, Marlys 'llms, and Margaret Grimshaw. Grim-shaw. Plans were discussed for the Carnival August 10th, and also for the birthday of the Primary which will have been organized 73 years on August 11th. The anniversary will be observed at a program by girls and boys in Sacrament meeting Aug 12th. Plans were also made for the festival to be held Aug. 16th at 6:45, on the church lawn if weather permits. All parents are invited to attend these occasions. |
