Show niHHiiiiiiiiiiiiiiniiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii lint 9 Jteald... By SECOND-GUESSER DlllllllllllllHllllllllllllllllllllilllllllll Milford's American Legion post accepted the challenge of our Main Street Reporter and ao-reed at their Thursday evening eve-ning meeting to install bike racks at several Main Street locations, lo-cations, so the youngsters can park their bikes out of the way of pedestrians, and in a safe manner where they won't risk having them run over by autos. The racks will appear on the street within, the next two or three weeks. Frankly, after listening in on an "explanation" of Regulation 7 of the Price Control Act, we are more confused than ever and can't help but arrive at the conclusion that in setting up the price stabilization program the Washington Bureaucrats finally did it as a sop to the milVona of Americans who were howling howl-ing about price jumps, but also the administration was awfully careful not to step on anyone's toes or take a chance on losing anv votes. The organized working men can get increases to meet the rising prices, the railroads can get increases in their freight rates, farmers can continue to raise prices, restaurants can charge what they wish for their food, auto manufacturers can raise the prices of their cars so what the hell do they mean by price "freeze" anyway? It's about as silly a setup as we've j ever run into. Those ever-dangerous Min-ersville Min-ersville casaba artists did it again this week, meeting the best they had to offer in Region Two M-Men competition and bringing home the title. They will next see action in the all-church all-church tournament opening on Wednesday in the U of U Field House. Wayne Gillins hit 19 points and Don Marshall 15 to lead the route of the strong Enterprise Enter-prise squad. Fmal score was 52-40. Paul Ashworth and Clif Mc-Shane, Mc-Shane, Telluride officials from Richfield, were in town this week Rooking over company property and checking on progress prog-ress of the new power line to the Harrington mine. All the poles have been erected, and it is expected to have the new, high-voltage line in operation before April 1st. Clif has just been confirmed by the Utah State Senate as a regent of the U of U. Wonder if he'll join the school lobby now??? McCoy Williams, evidently feeling sorry for the editor's family in this day of soaring-though-frozen living costs, presented pre-sented us with a breakfast for the family all wrapped up in one package. One of McCoy's chickens laid an egg that measured four inches long and weighed 5V oz. Inside the outer shell was another an-other egg, surrounded by a regular reg-ular egg white, and the inner egg was about normal size, perfect per-fect in every way. Now if McCoy could train his hens to lay that type of egg, the housewives would beat a path to his door to purchase "cake" eggs. All the egg whites they could use, already separated, sepa-rated, and a perfect "fryin' egg" besides. See where Milford has been granted racing dates by the Utah State Racing Association. Our dates are June 21, 22 and 23, but to date no group or organization or-ganization has announced they will sponsor the meet. Any takers? |
