Show THIRTY CONTESTANTS REGISTER FOR i MILFORD NEWS SUBSCRIPTION CONTEST i Twenty hoys and ten girls have registered for the Mil-ford Mil-ford News subscription contest, competing for more than $300 worth of prizes in addition to generous cash awards. The contest runs through the month of July, and offers a first and second prize for boys and a first and second prize for girls, promptness awards, special weekly prizes, and cash commissions for non-winners. First contestant to claim one of the promptness awards was 14-year-old Sally Killam, who was waiting in front of ' The News office at 7 a. m. last Monday Mon-day morning to turn in three new subscriptions and claim her school purse for promptness. Others in the contest are Earl Stonehocker, Dick Horton of Greenville, Wade Baxter, Neil Christopherson, Leland Beard, Jay Perkins, Vaughn McDon-a'd, McDon-a'd, Gary Waite, Clif Reese, Randy Morris, Boyd White, Neal Smith. Bryan Harden, Car-lyle Car-lyle Stott, Ronald Uffens, Monty Ashworth, Albert Merryweath-er, Merryweath-er, Charges Truex, Gary Bingham Bing-ham and Robert Friesen, all anxious to win the boys' first prize, a. $75 Winchester 12 -gauge repeating shotgun, on display at Sam's Furniture, or the second prize ,a $40 complete fly-fishing outfit, on display at ! La Tienda. j Competing with Sally for the I $75 Roos Highboy Cedar Chest, on display at Sam's, or the 24-inch 24-inch Schwinn girl's bicycle, on display at The Milofrd News, are Carol Jean Garfield, Barbara Bar-bara Whitaker, Florence Pitch-forth, Pitch-forth, Dorothy Fisher, Margene Whitaker, Pat Kesler, Vanda O'Leary, Afton Hutchings, and Penny Banks. Entries in ine contest are still open, and boys and girls may register at The News office and compete for the prizes. Several contestants requested permission to accept renewals from regular subscribers, so beginning this week contestants securing renewal subscriptions will be credited with five additional addi-tional points for each renewal turned in. The first week's po:.nt count will be posted in The Milford News window after the contestants check in Saturday Satur-day morning. |
