Game lime is 8 p. m., and reserved seat tickets go on sale Sunday Sun-day at LaMar Oulen's Corner Cor-ner Drug. According to the preseason dope gathered by up-stnte news men from coaches and observers, the Millard and Beaver squads are slated to battle for top spot in the district, dis-trict, with Hinckley and Delta the most likely teams to produce upsets. Milford and Parowan are rated at the bottom bot-tom of the standtags. MILFORD SQUAD DOWNS ENTERPRISE 35-28 The Milford Tigers "convinced" "con-vinced" the Enterprise basketball basket-ball squad when they defeated the visitors on the Milford floor last Friday, 35-28. A week previously pre-viously they had barely eked out a one-point win at Enterprise, Enter-prise, but when they went to work in the third period, coming com-ing onto the floor six points behind be-hind and finishing the quarter with a fourpoint lead, there was no doubt as to which team was superior. Crane sparked the win when he found himself after about six minutes of the third period had elapsed, and kicked in five points in less than a minute. The first period was sluggish, with the Tigers holding the game down to a deliberate pace. Clyde got the tip from Crane, but missed his shot, and took the ball off the bankboard and passed out to Stoker, who was fouled. Gerald missed the try, then Clyde scored the first point when he had a free toss. Enterprise made a field goal, and sank a free throw to take a 3-1 lead. Coon sneaked a nice one in from the side to tie it up. Enterprise went ahead on a charity pitch and Clyde sank a field goal, then Enteprise made one from the floor for a 6-5 lead. Mac made it 7-6 for the Tigers when he sank a pivot shot, and then added a free toss to equal the one-pointer for Enterprise and make it 8-8 at the quarter. The second stanza was the best period for the visitors, and they racked up 10 points while holding the Tigers to four, a field goal by Mclntyre and foul pitches by Clyde Turner and Crane. In the third period Enterprise made only one point. The Tiger 11 points just about sewed up the game. In this period Bob sank two field goals and two free throws, Bracken sank a charity toss, and Stoker and Turner each .got a two-pointer. Starting the final period Bob made another five points in a couple of minutes, one a "zipper" "zip-per" that swished in without touching the rim, a tip-in after Stoker had a rimmer, and a free throw, then toward the latter part of the game dribbled in for a set-up. Clyde sank one free throw and dribbled in for a two pointer with seconds to go, and Bracken made good two free chances. Bob Crane is measuring up to all hopes and expectations in pre-season play. He seems to be in on nearly all the plays, often "comes from nowhere" to stop an opponent under the basket, bas-ket, and after a summer of hard work with the state road commission com-mission is able to go the full route and play a hard game all the way. His record of 11.75 points per game in pre-season competition, while not the highest high-est the previous Tiger players have racked up, marks him as a steady point-getter, and the fact that he's had 55 free throws in eight games shows the competition com-petition has him marked as the man to watch. In pre-season contests, Coon with a .625 average has racked up the best foul shooting aver-i age. Herb has been handi-1 capped with a sore back or he undoubtedly would have more than a 5 point per game average aver-age for the seven games he has appeared in. Clyde Turner is pushing Crane with a 9.62 average aver-age ,and Stoker pushes Turner with 6.32 points per game. Mclntyre, in his first season as a "regular," has 4.62 points per game, and Bracken, midget of the squad, has 2.25 per game and a .560 average on his foul pitching. Other foul pitching averages, including members of the squad who have not appeared in sufficient suf-ficient games to make a showing, show-ing, follow: Mclntyre, 5 out of 15 for .333. Fowles, 0 out of 2. Coon, 5 out of 8 for .625. Bracken, 10 of 18 for .560. Fotheringham, 2 out of 3 for .666. Wright, 0 out of 1. Rex, 1 out of 3 for .333. Crane, 22 out of 55 for .399. Bradfield, 0 out of 2. Stoker, Stok-er, 9 out of 27 for .333. Turner, 23 out of 42 for .550.
