Show Catholic Church To Be Dedicated Saint Bridget's Catholic Church will be formally dedicated dedicat-ed Sunday, October 31st on the Feast Day of Christ the King. High Mass will be sung by Father Valine at 9:30 a.m., and Bishop Hunt will preside from his throne and give the sermon. Music will be furnished by 20 trained voices from the Newman Club Choir of Salt Lake. The dedication and the dedication dedica-tion address will be given by Bishop Steck in the afternoon. This will be followed by Benediction Bene-diction of the Blessed Sacrament. A church dinner will be prepared and served by the Catholic Ladies following the afternoon services. The property where the church is now erected was purchased pur-chased nearly 30 years ago. Due to the ever-changing population, the depression and the war, the lot stood vacant until last November, when the word came that a Catholic church was to be erected in Milford. Father Valine, a Dominican Priest from San Francisco, was given the mission. Father Valine laid aside his clerical garb and worked side by side with the carpenter, eectrician, plumber and laborer. The neat chapel and the comfortable comfort-able living quarters for the priest are the results of his untiring efforts. To Mrs. Owen R. Smith and Mrs. S. E. Pitchforth, who for a quarter of a century have lived in Milford and worked faithfully faith-fully with others, knowing some day their prayers would be answered, an-swered, it is a dream come true. The public is cordially invited to attend all services and will be made welcome. Tickets for the dinner may be purchased from Father Valine, Mrs. Cecil Edwards, Ed-wards, Mrs. Leona Rhodes, Mrs. Don Weisner, Mrs. G. McGinn, Mrs. Pitchforth, Mrs. Wm. De-Wolfe, De-Wolfe, Mrs. J. E. Yither or Mrs. Smith. |
