Show EDITORIAL Sportsmanship, that quality that makes a team outstanding outstanding whether it wins or v loses, was quite evident at the game last Friday. We of MHS were proud to be members of the Milford cheering section. The team played hard and though they lost the contest, they were not quarreling and fighting with the referee and members of the Cedar team. That's exactly as it should be. Sports are played not for victory vic-tory every time a game is played: someone must win and someone must lose but the real test is, How do we win do we gloat and make ourselves obnoxious? And how do we lose do we make excuses? Do we alibi? Or do we accept defeat graciously? All of this does not necessar-ily necessar-ily apply to the team alone the spectators should understand sportsmanship and they above all should exhibit the very finest fin-est sportsmanship to encourage our players. |
