Mrs. Dan Stewart, Stew-art, Mrs. Robert Schramm and Mrs. Roy Firmage. After the reception a number of people went to the Stoker i home, where the wedding cake j was cut and served with coffee. The happy couple left Tuesday i morning for a three-week wed- ding trip in the parks and South-1 South-1 crn California. They will make their home in Milford. Out-of-town guests were Mr. and Mrs. George H. Stewart, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Yardley and sons, Merrill, Al, Don and Boyd, of Beaver; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jameson of Minersville, Mr. and Mrs. D,avid Stewart of Pioche, Nov.; Mr. and Mrs. Stanley MR. AND MRS. D. A. FOWLES announce the engagement engage-ment and approaching marriage :i their daughter, Mary Louise, to Nick Caputo, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ross Caputo of Salt Lake City. The wedding will be solemnized sol-emnized on Monday. June 28, at St. Patrick's Church in Salt Lake : City. ! The couple will be honored at j a reception, following the cere- i mony, from 8 to 11 o'clock, at the home of Mrs. Hardy, 452 Oakley street. Miss Fowles attended the Mil-ford Mil-ford schools until the past year, when she accepted employment in Salt Lake City. A junior at Milford High in 1947, she was secretary-treasurer of the student stu-dent council, and a member of the cast of the annual school play. Mr. Caputo, a graduate of U S A C at Logan, was coach and athletic instructor at Milford High school during the 1947-48 school year. ...MRS. JAMES HOLM entertained enter-tained the Big Four Bridge club and guests at her home, Tuesday, June 1. Cut flowers were used as decorations. At bridge, Mrs. Vern Shingle-ton Shingle-ton won high points, Mrs. Grover Cuddy, honors, and Mrs. Edgar Moore, consolation. Guest prizes went to Mrs. Dan James, points; Mrs. Eettie Fotheringh am, honors, hon-ors, and Mrs. Tom Jantes, consolation. con-solation. Others present were Mrs. Ror,-ald Ror,-ald Banks, Mrs. Fay Bi.-adfie.'.d, Mrs. Harry Garfield, Mxs.A,. H. Connell, Mrs. George Moore, and Mrs. Owen R. Smith. Delicious strawberry shortcake short-cake was served. . ONE MONTH aft an .election meeting held by the Milford 4-H Stitchers' Club, at Miss Vanda O'Leary's home, in which Vera Tomsik was named pcresident. Marlys Gillins, vice president, Vanda O'Leary, secretary, Nancy Hillman, reporter, and. Glenda Rigby, song leader, a meeting was held at Vera Tomsik's home, in which the club bogan their fourth year of clothing work. Plans were made 'for a slumber slum-ber party, to be held at Nancy Hillman's home on June 13. Madelyn Kohler, a guest at the meeting, was accepted into membership in the club, to renew re-new her clothing work at the fourth year, where she left off. ' 1 i THE HOME OF Mr. and Mrs. 'Owen M. Stoker was the scene of a very lovely wedding Monday Mon-day evening, May 31st, when their daughter, Barbara Jean, became the bride of Mr. P. Frank Jones, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Jones. Mr. Mitchell Fisher officiated at the ceremony. Mr. Owen Stoker gave his daughter in marriage. Mrs. Shirlene Earnes was matron of honor, and Mr. Leland Jones acted as best nnn. Barbara Jean wore a very lovely bridal gown of silk net and white taffeta with a veil of net and orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of roses and gardenias. The matron of honor wore a lovely pink formal, and. a corsage of roses and gardenias. The ceremony was performed in the lovely living room, which was filled with beautiful flowers. Immediate families of the couple and a few very close friends attended at-tended the wedding. A reception was held immediately immedi-ately following the ceremony, ir. the L D S church. The Relief Society room was set with tables, tearing many lovely gifts. Flowers Flow-ers were used as decoration, and a large, beautiful wedding cake held the center place. More than 300 guests were present, and enjoyed en-joyed the evening. Mr. Carlyle Gronning officiated offici-ated as master of ceremonies at the following program: Solo, "I Love You Truly," Mr. Dan Ferguson, accompanied by Mrs. Eddie Anderson. Saxophone solo, Shirlene Barnes, accompanied accompa-nied by Marlys Gillins. Vocal solo, Mrs. Stanley Smith of Parowan. Par-owan. Solo, Lanet Bracken. Tap dance, Ramona Stewart. Solo, Labab Frazier. Reading, Betty Sue LeBaron. Duet, Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Jones, accompanied by Mrs. Eddie Anderson. The remainder of the evening was spent in dancing in the recreation rec-reation hall. Schoolmates of the bride served lovely refreshments, refresh-ments, under the direction of Mrs. Stoker, Mrs. R. M. Jones, THE SEWING CLUB was entertained en-tertained Thursday, May 27th, at the home of Mrs. lone Baxter, with Mrs. Vvs Baxter as assistant assist-ant hostess. A two-course luncheon lunch-eon was served, after which 500 was played. Mrs. Verna Tomsik won first prize, Mrs. Lucy Reese, second, and Mrs. Lucile Roberts the low. A lovely going-away gift was presented to Mrs. June Fotheringham. Others present were Mrs. Nelcla Memmotl, Mrs. Irene Griffiths, Grif-fiths, Mrs. Mary McCulley, Mrs. Florence Beard, Mrs. Olive Root, Mrs. Pauline Rummler, Mrs. 1 Josephine Killiam, Mrs. Thelma i Gillins and Mrs. Emma Griffiths, I MRS. RONALD BANKS, assisted as-sisted by her daughter Jerrie.. entertained en-tertained Ronnie on his tenth j birth anniversary Saturday, May i 91h. The afternoon was spent . in playing games and a candy i shower added to the merriment. 'The honored guest received a number of nice gifts and chocolate choco-late birthday cake, ice cream and punch were served. Guests present were Clark Grimshaw, Earle Stonehocker, J. R. THE 500 CLUB met at the home of Mrs. Lillian Atkin, (Thursday, May 24th. A very ' lovely lunch was served and Pirs. Helen Leech was presented w;th the club birthday gift. At cards Mrs. Millie Harris von high score and traveling prize, with Mrs. Lela Gilliam winning the consolation. Other members present were Mrs. Lucy Reese, Mrs. Verna Tomsik, Mrs. Margaret Lyman, Mrs. Diane 1 McCulley, Mrs. Olive Young and Mrs. Seldon Easton. Guests included in-cluded Mrs. Harris, Mrs. Neva Kinross and Mrs. Ruby Ash-worth. THE DORCAS SOCIETY of the Methodist Church met on 1 Thursday evening, May 27th, at j 1 the church, with Mrs. Eldora i i Tan- as hostess. Their regular j ; business meeting was held, and i the following officers were elect- ' ed tu serve for the coming year; Mia. Juanita Gleason, presi- dent, succeeding Mrs. W. G. 1 White; Mrs. Lucy Hendrickson, j vice-president, and Miss Gladysjl Gospiil, re-elected sec.-treas. There wore nine members and six guests present. A. delicious; lunch was served by the hostess. The next meeting will be held , June 30th at the home of Mrs. I Lucy Hendrickson. j I VICTORY LODGE No. 43 held its regular meeting June 2, at the I O O F Hall. Six persons were initiated into membership j by the degree team, in a very i impressive ceremony. New mem-bcrs mem-bcrs are Mrs. Lora Bradfield, I Mrs. Pauline Rummler, Mrs. 1 Claude Myers, Mr. Carl Elmer, Mr. Warren Atkin and Mr. Roy Firmage. Election of officers was held, with Mrs. Iola Carter being named noble grand, Mrs. Gladys Shingleton, vice grand; Mrs. I Susan Glenn, secretary; Mrs. Verna Tomsik, treasurer, and j Mrs. Margaret Lyman, 18-month trustee.. A very delicious lunch was served to 43 officers and mem-1 ters. Committee for the evening eve-ning included Mrs. Lettie Fotheringham, Fother-ingham, Mrs. Albina Goodwin, Mrs. Dora Johnson, Mrs. Jennie Martin and Mrs. Sofia Johnson. ft THE HEALTHY CLOVER Club held its first meeting on Tuesday, June 1, at the home of their leader, Mrs. Mildred Wil-cock. Wil-cock. Officers were elected as follows: Bonnie Williams .assistant .as-sistant leader; Barbara Tanner, president; Ruth Cline, vice-president; vice-president; Carol Sue Brannon, sec.-treas.; Florence Pitchforth, reporter; Carol Jean Garfield, assistant reporter; Patricia Wil-cock, Wil-cock, pianist; Myrtle Handley, song leader. This is a Four-H club project and will meet on Tuesdays and Saturdays in the homes of vari-jous vari-jous members. Next meeting 'will be held at 1 p. m.
