Show MERRILL JAMESON TO BE BURIED HERE WITH FULL MILITARY HONORS The body of Merrill Jameson who was killed in action on Saipan in 1942, will be returned to Minersville for burial in his native homeland, it was learned this week- when word was received re-ceived from the war department that the remains will arrive in Milford next Tuesday, June 8, at 2:30 p. m. He will be buried in Minersville Cemetery with full military honors. Members of the Minersville, Milford and Beaver American Legion posts will form a guard of honor, under un-der direction of Commander Clarence McWhorter. Merrill Jameson offered himself him-self for enlistment in the army on 1940, but was rejected be-cause be-cause of minor physical disability. disabil-ity. He entered the service in 1941, and after 10 months' training, train-ing, sailed for the Pacific theater of operations. After taking part in the invasion in-vasion of Saipan, he was killed during mopping up operations when a land mine exploded under un-der him. Joe Murdock, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph R. Murdock, returned re-turned last week from Logan, where he had attended the Utah State Agricultural College for the past year. During his freshman fresh-man year at the U S A C he was initiated into the Intercollegiate Knights, and Alpha Kappa Psi, national business fraternity. Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Beard of Salt Lake City were in Milford over the week-end, visiting at the home of Vernon's mother! Mrs. Charles Beard. They returned to their Salt Lake home Monday. Mr. and Mrs. E. D. Rogers and son Derrell, Mrs. Thelma Cooper and sons Jack and Bobbie, Bob-bie, and daughter Jessie, Mr. Jay Rogers and Mrs. Ethel Hilton and daughter Louella, all of Salt Lake, were here over the Memorial Me-morial Day holiday, visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Rogers. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Fotheringham Fothering-ham and daughter Reta Ann. of Las Vegas, Nev., and Mr. and Mrs. Dixon Fotheringham and son Allen of Beaver, spent the Memorial week-end at the home of their mother, Mrs. S. A. Za-briskie. Za-briskie. Mr. and Mrs. Oral Lee and son Kenny, of Caliente, were house guests at the S. A. Zabriskie home, returning to the Nevada city on Thursday. The party visited Lehman's Cave on Tuesday, enjoying the trip very much, and returning to Milford with the recommendation that all citizens of this area should visit the cave. Word was received Thursday by Mrs. S. A. Zabriskie that her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Billie Fotheringham, had welcomed their first baby boy, weighing 6V2 pounds, Tuesday morning, June 2. Mr. and Mrs. Ferrill Lish and family are spending several days in Beaver. Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Edwards, Ed-wards, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Edwards Ed-wards and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Edwards and family fam-ily spent Memorial Day in Beav-21- and Paragonah. Mrs. Patricia Prutzman left Wednesday to make her home in Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Jess Perkins and family are spending their vacation vaca-tion in California. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Banks and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Carter motored mo-tored to Springville Monday t attend the races. They report good races and a lovely time. The A. T. Hansen's, instructors at Milford High last year, are attending B Y U at Provo this summer. Mr. Harry Melhuish was in the local hospital for several days the past week, receiving medacil attention.
