Show TIGERS WIN FROM LINCOLN BUT DROP CONTEST TO DETA A win and a loss was last week's score for the Milford Tigers, as they near ihe end of the regular league season. Playing hosts to the Lincoln High Tigers of Orem. they dished out a severe walloping to their guests, on Friday nite. and on Monday, after "scaring the daylights" out of Delta, finally bowed to ihe invading Rabbits from ihe norih. Both games were crowd pleas-ers. pleas-ers. In the Lincoln High game the colorful gold uniforms of the northerners lent color to the dressy part of the affair, and the Tigers pleased the local fans by going right to work and stacking up a lop-sided score against the boys from the bigger league. Hadishima, Lincoln High star, handled the Dall with ease in p. irilliant floor performance from the guard slot. Root, for Milford, was high man with a sizzling 16 points. The Lincoln High boys were very particular about sincerely thanking their Milford hosts for the unusual hospitality accorded them here. Several players, and their coach, frankly stated they had "never been treated so swell" as on their trip here. Various Var-ious residents entertained the visiting players in their homes. On Monday night the Tigers met Delta in a postponed gamie. For the first half, it looked like a walk-away for the Rabbits. Altho Milford dominated the ball thru ihe first two periods, they couldn't sink their baskets and the tally was Delta 25. Milford 12 at ihe half. But the Tigers came out after the rest period and clicked for point after point as they steadily erased the Delta lead, pulling up to within 1 po'it of the Rabbits just after the start of the final quarter. Then the visitors sank two free throws, two baskets, and went on from there. But the Tigers didn't quit, and up until the final minute, a couple of good breaks on the tip-shots would have meant victory for the hometowners. Final league conies! will be played Friday evening when ihe Tigers are hosis io a rejuvenated re-juvenated Hinckley squad.
