Show BHHBBKBHiaWH THERE'S MORE ABOUT ! RUINATOR I Continued from Page One ! following accomplishments: Improvement of street lights. Many new lights have been installed in-stalled at various "dark corners," cor-ners," to make travel at night less hazardous. Many of the sidewalks of the city have been either replaced or repaired, eliminating some of the rough spots. A new grader was pruchased, which has been use for everything every-thing from smoothing some of the bumps to removing snow and emptying the garbage truck. The "old" fire truck has been completely equipped to serve as an auxiliary unit, and to answer alarms in the county, -mtside the city limits. Floodlights at the Union Pacific Pa-cific crossing were installed, mainly thru efforts of the retiring re-tiring town board. The city has been completely encircled by a cattle fence, assuring as-suring residents . of unmolested flower gardens next summer. A cattle guard was installed on the Airport Road, and preliminary prelim-inary moves have been initiated initiat-ed for construction of a cattle guard on Hiway 21. Under this arrangement the city pays a third of the cost, the state a third, and the cattlemen a third. Lights were installed at the fairgrounds, and a Softball park built. The first year Softball under the lights was a popular sport, but last year only a few exhibition games were played. A well at the fairgrounds, sunk last year, will provide .ample water to irrigate the grounds and supplement the school irrigation ir-rigation system. The 14-inch well at Library Park assures the city of ample water for the future. At the cemetery, complete sprinkling system can be hooked up to the water lines laid two years ago. A 5-ft. fence encircles the cemetery on all sides. Every building and the railing rail-ing at the fair grounds received a coat of "first grade" paint last summer. The swimming pool and locker rooms were improved and painted. More town roads than ever before have been oiled, altho many citizens state the city streets are in worse condition than at any time since before the war. The airport grounds have been improved, and a cement floor laid in the two hangars. The Christmas decorations installed in-stalled this past Christmas were the finest in Utah, by anybody's' measuring stick. |
