Show MILFORD HIGH PLANS FULL WEEK OF 'AMERICANISM' ACTIVITIES j American Education Week, originated by the American Legion and taken over by the National Education Association Associa-tion and the Parent-Teachers Association, will be observed in Milford with a full week of ; activities to be participated in by students, school officials, i the Parent-Teachers and the j Legion. ) On Monday, Nov. 10, Mr. Mc-Cloy, Mc-Cloy, principal of the Beaver High school, will address the Milford students at an assembly, using "Meeting the Emergency in Education as his theme. Tuesday, Armistice Day, the American Legion and Legion Auxiliary will conduct their annual an-nual essay contest at the 11 a. m. assembly. At least eight students stu-dents will compete, with Commander Com-mander Clarence McWhorter introducing the speakers and directing di-recting the program. Several musical numbers have been arranged ar-ranged by Mr. Steineckert, and Legionnaires will participate in presenting the colors and leading lead-ing the group in patriotic exercises. exer-cises. The general public is invited in-vited -to attend this Armistice Day assembly, beginning at 10:45. Specailly engraved medals med-als will be presented to the winners win-ners of first, second and third place. On Wednesday, Nov. 12, Mr. Richard W. Nelson, principal of '.he Milford school, will speak on "Strengthening the Teaching Profession." Bruce Carden will address the Thursday assembly, speaking on "Supporting Adequate Education." Educa-tion." Friday's program will present pre-sent another out-of-town speaker speak-er when Dr. Jacobson, dean of the Education Department at the A. C, speaks on "Enriching Home and Community Life." ' Special emphasis will be placed this year on the purposes of American Democracy.
