Show LEGION AUXILIARY INSTALLS OFFICERS The American Legion Auxiliary Auxil-iary held its regular meeting in the recreation hall of the L. D. S. Church, Monday, Sept. 15, with President Mary Williams in charge. District President Jetta S. Hyatt and District Secretary Nettie Morris of St George, were honored guests. After the business meeting, President Williams asked Mrs. Naomi Hughes, delegate from District Seven to the National Convention in New York City, for a report. She gave a very interesting and instructive report, re-port, stating that thruout the sessions much stress was placed on Peace, Americanism and National Na-tional Defense. lovely piano solo was rendered ren-dered by Mrs.. Anna Mae Hickman. Hick-man. Mrs. Ruth Leany, delegate dele-gate from this unit to the State Convention, gave a short report. Mrs. Ethel Nielsen, also a delegate dele-gate to the convention, presented present-ed the unit with a membership citation. Mrs. Nielsen was appointed ap-pointed State Chaplain. The meeting was turned over to District President Hyatt, who complimented the unit on their work for the past year, and installed in-stalled the following officers for 1947-48: President, Ruth Leany; first vice president, Jean Hickman; second vice president, Emma Smith: secretary, Letha Smyth; treasurer, Louise Briscoe; chap-ain, chap-ain, Vera Bond; historian, Jessie Frazier; sergeant-at-arms, Anna Mae Hickman. Mrs. Williams was then presented pre-sented her Past President pin. She thanked all the officers and members for their splendid cooperation. co-operation. President Leany then urged all members to accept their chairmanships, and assist her in furthering the auxiliary program during the coming year. The following standing committees com-mittees were named: Americanism, Namoi Hughes and Nina Bingham. Membership, Noma Bradshaw and Ruth McWhorter. ' Poppy chairmen, Emma Smith and Mary Williams.
