During 1946, Gb3 carloads of Utah produce reached Los Angeles markets. New York City got 155 carloads. ; Cansas City 142, Chicago 134, St. Louis 122, and Philadelphia 112 carloads. The excellent , quality potatoes shipped from Milford by the Potato Marketing Association, are not included in the above figures. , Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wan and sister of Provo are visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs Heber Gillins Sr. The Lucky Clover 4-H Clul entertained their mothers at thf home of Freida Wood, their 4-K leader, on Thursday, August 14 Mothers attending were Mrs Rachel Eyre, Mrs. Madge Car ter, Mrs. Beulah Wood, Mrs Vera Carter, Mrs. Merle Brad field, Mrs. Melba Baker. Mr. and Mrs. Burnell McAfee Mc-Afee and family of Payson have been visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Owen Davis. are the proud parents of a baby boy, born early Sunday morning in the Iron County hospital. Mr. Robert Bonner is in the Milford hospital, recuperating from an appendectomy. He suffered suf-fered a serious set-back when a heart attack occurred Sunday, but is reported to be improving nicely now. I Mrs. Jack Ogden and children chil-dren of Milford have been visiting visit-ing at the home of Mrs. Ogden's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Davis, for a few days. She returned re-turned home Tuesday. Jay Browner, who was injured in-jured in an auto accident near Bryce Canyon, some time ago, returned to Caliente, Nev., with his mother, Mrs. Vella Stephenson, Stephen-son, last Friday. Harrel Gillins is in the Iron County hospital following an operation op-eration for appendicitis performed per-formed last Monday. Karl Truman, proprietor of the feed store, has purchased a new Studebaker truck, which he has equipped with a grain bed, with a hydraulic hoist for dumping. Mrs. Alta Kelsey reports that her daughter, Helen Bonner, Bon-ner, who is employed in Salt Lake City, is suffering from a "strep" infection jjt the mouth, and has been given several shots of penicillin. ""ae James Wood family all enjoyed a picnic up Minersville "Canyon last Saturday night. A delicious luncheon was served, followed by home made ice cream. The occasion was to honor Mrs. Virgene Jameson, on her birth anniversary. Mr. Frank Pryor returned to Ely, Nev., on Monday, to be at the bedside of his wife, Mrs. Ima Pryor, who had suffered a relapse, after apparently recuperating recuper-ating from a major operation. Mrs. Pryor's Condition was reported re-ported as quite serious. Mr, and Mrs. Frank Terry and children of Salt Lake City were visitors last Wednesday and Thursday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Blackburn. Hugh Earl Blackburn was honored at a party, August 16th, celebrating his "8th birthday. Those present were Sally Kae Myers? Shirleen Davis, Calvin Eyre, fylary Owens, Keith Dot-son, Dot-son, Norma Davis, Earl Gillins, Barbara Fails and Michel Mc-Knight. Mc-Knight. Refreshments consisted consist-ed of cookies, punch, candy and peanuts. The children played "peanut hunt," "London bridge," "drop ' the handkerchief," and hide and ' seek. The old school house on the Minersville Junior High school 1 grounds is being remodeled and 1 made into a garage for the j school bus. Mort Davis is employed em-ployed to make the necessary renovation. Margaret Davis of California ' has been a visitor at the home ' of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Davis. ' Mrs. Lorraine Dotson has re- 1 turned home after a week's vis- 1 it in Provo. Mrs. Randall Banks has re- turned home from the Iron 1 County hospital, where she un- ' derwent a minor operation. Mr. and Mrs. Ross Kelsey will soon move into the Fisher ' home, recently purchased by Jack Kelsey. , Mr. William E. Bonner was 1 Married to Mona Gillies of Los Angeles (formerly of Beaver) in Nevada, on August 12. Bill is a son of Mrs. Alta Kelsey. The , couple will make their home in Minersville, renting one of the Dotson apartments. I |
