Show ELEMENTARY SCHOOL NEWS By LESLIE COBB On Monday of last week Mrs. Gueist took her class out to the airport to study modern transportation. Last Monday Mrs. Bond's First grade enjoyed some pictures of the pioneers coming to Utah. They soon will put up a border around the room, about this happening. In Miss Parkinson's First grade some of the reading classes are now reading First Readers, instead of Pre-Primers, as they had been reading. The Fifth grade people have written a number of poems in language class this year. Here is one by Roger Aagard which I think is very good: MY BABY SISTER I have a little sister, Her eyes are big and blue, I love her Oh so very much, She's just so cute and new. She laughs and plays and coos all day And pulls my hair, oh my! And then you'd think that it hurt her. The way she starts to cry! Roger Aagard. IF I WERE A RAINDROP If I were a raindrop As if I were, I'd drop down to earth To see where you were. If I were a raindrop I'd live in the sky, I'd dance all around And would really fly. If I were'a raindrop How happy I'd be I'd water the flowers, Then they would like me'. If I were a raindrop And you were outside, I'd drop on you And soak your hide. Florence Pitchforth. Mrs. Muncey's 4th grade. IF I WERE A RAINDROP If I were a raindrop On a rainy day I would fall on the roof All through the day. If I were a raindrop I would fall all day, But when the sun comes out I would slink away. If I were a raindrop I would rain and rain And make the, daisies grow, I would rain on the pane. If I were a raindrop I would be able to fly, Just as the bird does, Way up in the sky. Monty Ray Ashworth. Mrs. Muncey's 4th grade. |
