Show Mrs. Ada Winn and daughter, Mrs. Netta Mitchell of Pioche, are visiting friends and relatives here this week. Mrs. Sophie Johnson received word from her son, Arthur, that he will be stationed at Chanute, 111., where he will attend a school of meteorology, lasting about three months. At the completion of his specialist training, he will be granted grant-ed a furlough. Mr. and Mrs. Ward Carter and daughter, and Mrs. Joseph Eyre of Beaver, were shopping in Milford Tuesday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Johnson flew to Los Angeles, Calif., on Friday, where they will do some buying for their furniture stores in Milford Mil-ford and Beaver. Miss Lois Altman of Denver is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrsj I. Altman. Mrs. Cora Altman left .Tuesday for Los Angeles, where she will spend a week visiting her mother. Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Murdock of Minersville announce the engagement engage-ment of their daughter, Edith, to Mc. McDonald Armstrong of Cedar City. The wedding will take place on February 8. HOSPITAL NEWS A baby boy was born to Mr. and Mrs. S. E. Pitch forth Monday morning, morn-ing, tipping the scales at 6 lbs., 4 oz. Born to Mr. and Mrs. Paul Miller, Mil-ler, a baby boy at the Milford hospital, hos-pital, last Thursday, weighing 8 lbs., 4 oz. Mrs. Miller is the former Kathleen Kesler. Virginia Grimes was operated on on Thursday for acute appendicitis. Mrs. June Pearson of Minersville underwent a major operation on Monday. Ray Carter of Minersville is still confined to the Milford hospital, hos-pital, but is walking around and expects to be released in a few days. Harry Holmes is in the Milford hospital, recovering from a badly sprained back. Jim Gray of Las Vegas, son of Mrs. Viva Gray, was in Milford Sunday. He left Monday for Los Angeles where he has accepted employment. em-ployment. Mrs. J. D. Johnston had a.s luncheon guests on Tuesday. Mrs. Vena Wilson, Mrs. Roy Cottrell and Douglas, Alice and Ethel Cook. It was Alice's ninth birth anniversary. anniver-sary. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Mills and daughters, Lynda Rhae and Melody, Mel-ody, were week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. F. L. Osborn. A few little lit-tle friends of Lynda's called Sunday Sun-day afternoon to wish her a "happy birthday," it being her seventh an- niversary. Ice -cream and cake were served, after which they enjoyed en-joyed the matinee, compliments of Lynda's father and mother. Judy Baxter accompanied the Mills family to Lynndyl Monday. On Tuesday afternoon, 14 small friends met at Lynda's home to help celebrate her seventh birthday. Games, music and stories related by the children made the afternoon after-noon an enjoyable one.
