Show BYU-city pasture land deal occupies council meet Presentation and discussion with ultimate approval of all city councilmen regarding the selling of Springville City pasture pas-ture land to BYU for their proposed pro-posed Industrial Park, occupied occu-pied most of the time at the city council meeting held Monday Mon-day night. Mayor Calvin Packard stated that the city had been working with BYU on this project for some time and that each councilman coun-cilman had received a copy of the agreement which the city attorney had read in the meeting meet-ing in its entirety. After considering the proposal propos-al and agreement, it was moved by Councilman Child that the agreement submitted be spread upon the minutes of the city council, that the proposal of BYU be accepted, and that the mayor and city recorder be authorized and directed to execute ex-ecute the agreement as submitted sub-mitted when the proper surveyed sur-veyed descriptions of the properties prop-erties covered by the agreement had been prepared and attached attach-ed thereto and a release of the option covering the city pasture pas-ture had been obtained from the Provo-Springville Holding Company. The motion was seconded sec-onded by Councilman James and all councilmen gave an "aye" approval to the motion. Vernon Castelton met with the council in connection with the city-owned property on both sides of the walkway from Brookside to the high school. After some discussion, the attorney at-torney was instructed to prepare pre-pare a proposed agreement and send to Mr. Castleton and Allan Al-lan Danielson for their consideration. consid-eration. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Gull met with the council in regards to establishing a trailer court on their property on North Main. They were informed that the Planning Commission is making mak-ing a study of trailer courts and multiple dwellings. No action ac-tion was taken pending completion comple-tion of that study. |
