Show Sex education advisory committee holds meet First meeting of an 18-mem-ber ad hoc advisory committee, appointed to make recommendations recommen-dations to the Nebo School Board of Education by Supt. Joe A. Reidhead, on what Robert Hogan, board member ard MD.; Orvil Swanson, Community Presbyterian Church; Mrs. Leona Curtis, school nurse; Mrs. B. Davis Evans, member of the press, and Gus Black, health educator. The committee shall present in regular board meeting, their recommendations only after having held at least one public PTA meeting in each of the communities o f Springville, Spanish Fork and Payson. Purpose will be to provide a procedure of receiving feed back and concensus or disagreement disa-greement from parents. Completion Com-pletion of the study is hoped to be done by the spring of 1970. should be taught in the field of sex education, was held last Thursday at the board room of the district office. In charge of the meeting was Superintendent Reidhead who pointed out that many districts do not know what is being taught and do not have a planned sequential sex education educa-tion program, have not defined the program sufficiently to give direction to teachers and administrators. The newly formed committee is charged with the responsibility responsi-bility to review the program as determined by the director of instruction, including text materials, films, etc. The committee com-mittee is to evaluate objectively all materials and reach an agreement on all recommendations recommenda-tions to the board. Dr. Reidhead called the meeting meet-ing to order and following his introductory remarks, Boyd Goodrich, director of curricu lum for the district and chairman chair-man of the committee assumed direction of the meeting and announced that Mrs. Lynn Christensen would act as secretary sec-retary of the committee. The next meeting will be held September Sep-tember 25 at which time a member of the Council of the Twelve of the LDS Church will speak to the group. It was announced an-nounced that Phillip Argyle, director di-rector of the Instructional Media Me-dia Center, will aid Mr. Goodrich Good-rich in his responsibilities. Committee members include the following: Springville area Ernest A. (Bert) Strong Jr., Kolob Stake President; David McDaniel. PTA president; Richard Rich-ard Drollinger, educator; Ray Whiting, parent, citizen; Spanish Span-ish Fork area J. Austin Cope, Jr., stake president; Mrs. Lynn Christensen, PTA president; presi-dent; Lucille Bartholomew, educator; ed-ucator; Mrs. Vernon Carlson, parent, citizen: Payson area Max Nelson, appointed by stake presidency; Mrs. Sherol Wilson, PTA president; Mrs. Jerelyn Garner, educator and Joel Johnson, John-son, parent-citizen.
