Show Success Art month closes; over 19,000 view art exhibit to put over the drive and achieve the goal set at $2,000. Jack Allen acted as drive chairman. chair-man. Art Ball successful Third annual Art Ball held Saturday night was probably the most outstanding one held to date. Under the direction of Mrs. D. LaRell Johnson the dance featured the orchestra of Eugene Jelesnik, who gave several violin selections on the floor show. Other numbers on the floor show were presented by BYU singers and dancers. dan-cers. Bruce Braithwaite conducted con-ducted the door prize drawings and the high school art queens drew for the paintings and made the presentations. Winners of the paintings given giv-en were: Mrs. Jack Allen, Mrs. LeRoy Johnson, Mrs. Keith Robinson, Paul Forster, Howard C. Maycock, Max Alleman and Lavell Brown. During the popular National April Art Exhibit approximately approximate-ly 19,000 persons have visited the gallery and seen the show. Exhibiting artists have called during the month as well as tourists from over the United States. From Utah visitors and school students from Moab on the south to Smithfield on the north have visited. Most popular popu-lar painting at the gallery as judged bv visitors was that of R. Brownell McGrew of Cottonwood, Cot-tonwood, Arizona, whose work was "At the Sing." It pictured a group of Indians. It yas valued val-ued at $15,000. The exhibit closed Wednesday and preparations prepar-ations are being made to crate and ship the paintings to their owners.
