Mead of Boulder City, Nevada, were honored at a dinner here marking their golden wedding anniversary. Mrs. Mead is the former Lucille Johnson, former resident of Springville. 50th wedding anniversary dinner honors Mr., Mrs. Thomas Mead Mr. and Mrs. Thomas C. Mead of Boulder City, Nevada, were honored on the occasion of their golden wedding anniversary anni-versary with a dinner party at a local restaurant Friday evening. eve-ning. Hosts for the occasion were their two sons and their daughters-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Mead of Ketchikan, Alaska, and Mr. and Mrs. Orin Mead of Whittier, California. Mrs. Thomas Mead is the former Lucille Johnson of this city. She met her husband while she was teaching at Richfield, Idaho. A retired engineer with the Reclamation Services, Mr. Richard K. Miner, Maria Johnson, John-son, Zina Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Harold J. Whiting of this city; the host and hostess and their families, Mr. and Mrs. Elwood El-wood Mead of Alaska and a daughter Diane and son, George and the Orin Meads of Whittier, Calif., and children Lisa, Kirby, Andy, Tyra, and Tom. The visitors from out of town stayed with the Zina and Maria Johnsons with Mrs. Clara J. Sumsion and with the Harold Whitings during their visit here, leaving Monday for their homes. Mead had taught previously in the University of Idaho. They were married in Ithaca, New York, July 15, 1918. He served in World War I. His father was Dr. Elwood Mead, U.S. Commissioner Com-missioner of Reclamation for whom Lake Mead was named. The Meads lived in Seattle, Denver, and Ogden while he worked with the Bureau of Reclamation, Re-clamation, but most of the time in Boulder, Nevada. As the guests arrived for the dinner, Mr. Mead's brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. John Mead, presented each lady with an orchid or-chid corsage having grown the orchids, as a hobby in their garden gar-den at Saratoga, California. After grace by Richard Sumsion Sum-sion of Salt Lake City, an interesting in-teresting program honored the guests of honor. Grandchildren, Lisa, Tyra and Andy Mead of Whittier, Calif., gave an instrumental instru-mental selection; Diane Mead, granddaughter from Ketchikan, a graduate of Holyoke, Mass., gave a vocal solo accompanied by Mrs. Richard Sumsion. Miss Mead is leaving soon to study voice in Germany. Zina Johnson, sister of Mrs. Mead, gave a delightful account ac-count of the courtship and marriage mar-riage of the guests of honor and she played the old time recording, re-cording, "They Didn't Believe Me," from the opera, "The Girl from Utah," which Mr. Mead had sent his wife during their courtship. Evelyn Boyer and Harriet Strong gave a vocal duet accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. Richard Sumsion. The guest list included the following family members, Mr. and Mrs. John Mead and Brig. General and Mrs. M. W. Mars-ton Mars-ton of Saratoga, Calif.; Mrs. Chester A. Johnson and Mr. and Mrs. Tim Sanders of Richfield, Idaho; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Johnson John-son of Burley, Idaho; Mrs. Lyd-ia Lyd-ia J. Wilson, Mr. and Mrs. Jay Brockman, Logan; Mrs. Burke Wilson, Santa Ana, Calif.; Mrs. Clara J. Sumsion, Springville; Attorney and Mrs. , Richard Sumsion, Mr. and Mrs. Owen Sumsion, Salt Lake City; Attorney At-torney and Mrs. Robert Sumsion, Sum-sion, Mrs. Margaret J.
