Show UFUC to conduct independent drive for funds United Fund of Utah County will conduct an independent campaign this fall . to raise $190,100 to support only the health, welfare and youth guidance guid-ance programs of Utah County Coun-ty during 1968. This was made clear Tuesday by officers and directors in a statement to some 15,000 citizen-owners of the Utah County United Fund. Purpose of the announcement announce-ment was to correct any misunderstanding mis-understanding that the goal for this year's campaign in Utah County might be combined, combin-ed, or federated with drives next month by the united funds of Salt Lake area and Ogden, Max C. Elliott, president, presi-dent, said Tuesday. A number of inquiries about this apparently have resulted from recent news reports that the three united funds in Utah will seek to raise a total of about two million dollars this fall, Mr. Eliott said. To clear up such questions, local directors emphasized Tuesday Tues-day that United Fund of Utah County will continue to serve only the interests and needs of local citizens in raising funds and allocating them to support member agencies in Utah County. Coun-ty. The statement by directors emphasized that "United Fund of Utah County is an independent, inde-pendent, non-profit corporation of Utah, owned and operated only by the contributors, the citizens of Utah County, who unite in this way to provide adequate support at the least cost to necessary health, welfare wel-fare and youth guidance services ser-vices of Utah County." |
