Show Mapleton girl wins honors in business field Outstanding in her field at Utah Technical College at Pro-vo Pro-vo is Miss Johanna Perrero, 20, Mapleton. As a first year student in business and secretarial science at UTC Johanna has achieved speeds of 130 words per minute in the taking of shorthand. According Ac-cording to her instructors this speed is exceptional for a student stu-dent with one year of training. Johanna was voted the most outstanding student in the business bus-iness department this year. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marty Perrero. Miss Perrero attended Saint Francis High School in Provo where she graduated salutator-ian salutator-ian of her 1965 graduation class. She was active in student affairs as co-editor of the yearbook year-book for two years and a cheerleader for four years. She was the representative from St. Francis at Girls State. Mrs. Mark Oakley spent an enjoyable few days last week at Duchesne with her son, Al-den Al-den Oakley and wife and fami-ily. fami-ily. Alden is employed with the Bureau of Reclamation. Mrs. Oakley also attended a ground breaking exercise and celebration celebra-tion marking the beginning of the Bonneville Unit of the Central Cen-tral Utah Water Project. Mr .and Mrs. R. A. Oldroyd were in Logan over the weekend week-end to attend the graduation exercises of their daughter, Julie. She received her degree in elementary education and has signed a contract to teach in the Granite School District. |
