Officer retires after serving state 28 years Owen Beardall, with a 28-year 28-year record as highway patrolman, patrol-man, has retired as of Tuesday, Feb. 21. He began his duties in September 1939 and has worked continuously in the Utah County area to Soldier Summit on the southeast, to Eureka on the southwest and to the Point of the Mountain on the north. His experiences have been varied, some tragic, some exciting ex-citing and some interesting. The fartherest his duties ever took him from home was one time when he was assigned to go to Chicago to return a prisoner. pris-oner.
