Show Legion Auxiliary holds patriotic meeting Lawrence Lynn was speaker at an interesting meeting of the American Legion Auxiliary Wednesday evening, at Memorial Memor-ial Hall, directed by President Gladys Pennington. Venice Beals, Americanism chairman, arranged the program. Mr. Lynn commented on the importance of recognizing the American flag with proper salute sa-lute and noted that all should remember what early patriots did for this country. He said among other things, that he believed the early leaders such as Washington, were men raised rais-ed up by God. The Americanism essay contest con-test winners, Gail Packard and Evan Roundy, read their essays and were presented prizes of $10 and $5 respectively. These will now be entered in district competition. Parents of the winners Mrs. F. Calvin Packard Pack-ard and Mr. and Mrs. Max Roundy attended as guests as did members of the American Legion. Several members from the Musettes entertained with vocal numbers. In short business, Mrs. Pennington Pen-nington urged members to donate do-nate Gold Strike and Green stamps to help buy a bus for the State Hospital. She announced announ-ced the department leadership meeting, Feb. 25, 26, in Salt Lake City.
