Show 5x local people chosen to take part in Hill Cumorah Pageant SLx young people from Springville and Mapleton are scheduled to take part in the world-famous Hill Cumorah pageant at Palmyra, New York, July 28 through August 1. Three of the participants, James Leon Vincent, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Vincent, Springville; Marilyn Barker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Har-old Barker and Carol Lindsay, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Lindsay, both of Maple ton, are missionaries in New York state. The other three, Barbara Jessee, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cornell Jessee; Carol Greenhalgh, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Greenhalgh and Ruth Bramall, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. LeRoy Bramall, are students at BYU. They are leaving today for the pageant site. Miss Bramall and Miss Jes-see Jes-see are members of the Eighth Ward and Miss Greenhalgh of the Sixth. All are active in church work in their wards. The Hill Cumorah Pageant, now 27 years old, is presented by more han 400 LDS members, mem-bers, men and women in 25 stages on the slope of Hill Cumorah each summer. It J draws an attendance 'of more than 100,000 spectators from1 all parts of the nation and is free to the public. The students going from here to the pageant, plan to spend two days at the New York World Fair enroute home and will also visit historical sites concerned with the LDS Church history on their way back. |
