Show Twelfth, Mapleton to represent Kolob in Division M Men meet Kolob Stake will be represented repre-sented in the Division M Men basketball tournament which opens in Spanish Fork High School's gym Tuesday, Febru- ary 18 at 6 p.m. Twelfth Ward will go in as the winner of stake play having won every game. Mapleton will be in the meet also, as the runner-up team. The tournament, under the direction of Gordon Smith, division di-vision supervisor, and his committee, com-mittee, will all be played in the two gyms at the high school. Both brackets will begin be-gin play at 6 p.m., Tuesday, and Wednesday. Games will continue Thursday with the championship on Saturday. Kolob results Thursday marked the closing of play in the Kolob M Men race and the awarding of trophies tro-phies to winners and the all-stake all-stake team. Supt. Glendon Johnson, presented the sportsmanship sports-manship trophy to the 11th Ward, Platte Watts, coach. Boyd Wilson presented the second sec-ond place trophy to the Mapleton Ma-pleton Ward, coached by Ray Whiting. The championship prize was presented to Bishop and assistant coach, DelMoine Christensen and assistant coach Dave Richards of the Twelfth . Ward, by Hal Taylor . Top ten players representing the all-stake team received individual individ-ual trophies presented by Grant Richins, stake supervisor, supervis-or, and Woodrow Weight, ac- . tivity assistant, to Ted Murray Ron Alvey, Tom Alvey, Pete Roundy, Ben Killpack, Jay Jensen, Frank Loftin, John Joe ' Miller, Russell Williams and ', Gordon Smith. Final night scores , Mapleton found the game i with the First Warders rather an up-hill grind as the younger young-er First Warders put up a determined de-termined battle all the way before be-fore losing out 57-55. Ron Alvey Al-vey was the big gun for the losers. Jensen and Allen kept the scoring going for the winners, win-ners, j Second Ward defeated the Eleventh Ward in another interesting in-teresting windup game to take third spot in the league, 69-63. ub pguAvop jCrisi23 itjjtomx understaffed Sixth Ward team 52-28 to make their record perfect for the season.
