Show Jesse W. Guvmon great-grandchildren. Funeral services were Aug. 23, at 10 a.m. in the Parowan Third Ward Chapel, with Bishop LaMar Jensen officiating. of-ficiating. Family prayer was offered by Lloyd G. Guymon in the Boyer Southern Utah Mortuary. Elmer Gurr gave the invocation on the services with Jackie Robinson rendering the prelude and postlude music. The Parowan Second Ward Choir sang "Jesus, Lover Of My Soul." Milton B. Jones gave an eulogy, with Walter Forster singing "How Great Thou Art." Heber Gurr and Bishop Jensen gave remarks. Ann Frehner sang "In My Fathers House Are Many Mansions." She was accompanied by Jackie Robinson. William G. and Vee Hurst sang a medley of Jesse's favorite songs. They were accompanied by Ross Hurst. Jim Guymon gave the benediction of the services ser-vices before traveling to the Parowan City Cemetery where Bishop Rupert Hulet gave the dedication of the gravel followed by military rites by the Parowan American Legion Post 20 with the American Flag being presented to Golda Guymon. Funeral services were under the direction of Boyer Southern Utah Mortuary. JESSE W. GUYMON, 86, of Parowan died Aug. 20, 1982, in the Valley View Medical Center. He was born Jan. 19, 1896, in Parowan to Markus Lafayette and Zilpha Lowder Guymon. He married Golda Gurr on Jan. 19, 1926, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He served a mission for the LDS Church to the Southern States Mission. He was a bishop in the Parowan East Ward from 1942-1948. He was a high priest in the Parowan Third Ward and served as group leader for ten years. The couple served as ! temple ordinance workers for seven years in the St. George LDS Temple. He helped organize and served as first chairman of the Five County Association. He served on the Iron County Commission for eight years and as chairman for six of the eight years. He also served on the Parowan City Council. He was a well known rancher and farmer in Iron County. He was a vetern of World War I, serving in Belgium and France. He is survived by his wife of Parowan, one son, Lloyd Gurr Guymon of Livermore, Calif; Grace Elaine Jones of Ukiah, Calif.; La Vonna Forster of Roy, Utah; and Joyce Hamilton '. of St. George; 25 grandchildren and 23 |
