Show McDonald's manager wins award Jerald By bee, manager of the Cedar City McDonald's, was recently awarded the Outstanding Store Manager Award from McDonald's Corporation. CEDAR CITY Jerald Bybee, manager of Cedar City McDonald's, has won the Outstanding Store Manager Award from McDonald's Corporation. Cor-poration. He received the award . at the Annual Managers : Convention conducted ( . recently in San Diego. The award (one is ; .. granted in each of the eight regions in the U.S.) was for top performance ' :' of a McDonald's Restaurant manager. Bybee won the award from over 500 restaurants in his area. "I was really surprised," sur-prised," he said. "I knew that our restaurant was one of only five which had consistently received the triple A rating. The rating is for cleanliness, service and quality. But I sure didn't think they would give me the Outstanding Out-standing Store Manager Award." Bybee also gives credit for the award to his crew. "I have one of the best crews, dependable and supportive of my ideas. I also have a supportive boss, Steve Heaton, who is the owner of both the Cedar City and St. George McDonald's." The award is based on four criteria: crew turnover percentage, quality service and cleanliness score, increase in-crease in gross sales and profit after controllables. "I have not attended Hamburger University yet," Bybee added. The university is sponsored by McDonald's and is the final course required of managers. "I've attended at-tended both the basic and intermediate operations courses. I'll go to the university at Oakbrooke, 111., this October." Bybee is married to the former Colleen Smith and they have four children: April, Matthew, Sherrie and Maria. He has worked for McDonald's for four years, the past two as manager. |
