Show Only three Kedmen win in wrestling meet Shreve Damon (126) lost his first two matches, and Kendall Bryant lost the first one but then won the second and third ones to qualify him for the semifinals. A slight injury prevented him from finishing out the tournament. All of the wrestlers had two matches on Thursday. The winners then wrestled once Friday and once Saturday while the loosers had to wrestle twice Friday and Saturday to fight their way back to the top. SALT LAKE CITY Only three of the ten Redmen participating in the State 3-A Wrestling Tournament last weekend placed, which was a little disappointing, according to CHS Coach Virgil Johnson. The Cedar team placed 11th out of 24 teams in the state. Bringing home a second-place medal was Greg Bulloch, who won his first three matches but lost to Chris Humphries of Mountain View in the Final Round. Bulloch wrestled at 138. Danny Bulloch finished fourth at 185. He won his first two matches but lost the third one (semi-final round) . He went on to win the fourth match but lost number five. Gaylen Matheson (132) took sixth place by losing his first match and then winning two and three. He lost the fourth match. Coy Bryant (98), Greg Robinson (112), John Stokes (145), Dane Boren (155) and Emron Tripp (167) all lost the first one, won the second and then lost out in the third match. |
