Show Rainstorm cuts Paragonah's power PARAGON AH: An Aug. 11 a rainstorm blew over a tree located at 250 N. 300 East, Paragonah, tearing down three power lines, and leaving some of Paragonah's residents without power for two hours. A witness, who was checking his horses, at the time reported that he watched the tree sway back and forth until it fell. Then the lines began buzzing and flashing. The electrical crew quickly responded to the scene of the damage. They disconnected the three downed lines and pulled the fuses. They worked for two hours splicing burned and torn lines. Over 200 feet of electrical wire was used to replace lines, reported Ted Barton, city chief electrician. Approximately 10:20 p.m., the lines were reconnected and power resumed. ' The next afternoon, Ted and Royce Barton replaced the power pole in front of Albin Judd's residence. The origianl pole had started splitting when the lines were torn down the previous night. |
