No de-! de-! talis were released, but It was known that a deserve -pancy exists in the audit. Details were expected to be released at the next council meeting, Nov. 17. Mr. Gloyd Pickering who l had conducted the audit was ; engaged to improve the internal in-ternal control of city funds and prepare a power report for review by the Council. The resignation of David Halen was accepted, and It was decided that he would not be replaced, and that the police would return to the old three man schedule. Mayor Christiansen was appointed as Beaver City's legal representative to IPA. Mr. Jack Erwlg met with the Council and presented preliminary plans for the remodeling of theSeniorCit-lzens theSeniorCit-lzens Center.After discussion discus-sion of the plans it was the consensus of the Council a on site Inspection should be held at 12:00 Noon on Sept. 3, 1981. Mr. Sam Hutchings met with the Council and requested re-quested that his bonding for High Country Estates be released. re-leased. Councilman Wlllesen rooved,Councilman Robinson 2nd, Beaver City release Sam Hutchings bondlng.All voted In favor of the motion. Sam Hutchings presented to the Council several sample ordinances which reimburse developers for their costs when other Individuals connect con-nect to lines put in by the developers at their costs. It was the consensus of the Council, CityManager Baker should obtain costs and foot-ages foot-ages "of the Sewer Installed by Mr. Hutchings. It was the consensus of the Council, Beaver City should not take any action on Hunter 2 till after Nov. 20th. In a special session Nov. 5th, the civil action brought by the Morris D. Combs against Beaver City and Beaver Bea-ver County, and several officers of-ficers was discussed. All the councilmen,Mayor Christiansen and Police Chief Nowers and Officer Raymond Goodwin were present. pre-sent. After a lengthy discussion discus-sion it was decided to engage Mr. John McDonald, a Salt Lake Attorney to defend Beaver Bea-ver City,and Officer Goodwin and former Officer Glen Buf-fington. Buf-fington. McDonald will be jointly hired by Beaver City and Beaver County to defend them and the involved officers of-ficers in federal court. The Combs action charges unlawful search and seizure and a volation of their civil rights In removing and exhibiting ex-hibiting pictures of Mrs. Combs. The suit asks damages dam-ages in the amount of $230,000. On November 10th the Council met to canvass the Nov. 3rd election, and verified veri-fied the winning candidates to be Mayor Robert O. Christiansen, and Councilman Council-man Val T. Smith and Michael T. Robinson. |
