Show RdterlUe j (Rainbow s ' I : ' Sf j 3) ; jtf V, ' v AtC Point In BeXu)&e.n r .'. By n t' y v y CAROL LEMON J Believe it or not, Spring is here. The Solstice is upon us. The days will slowly but surely lengthen. We are already on our way to Summer. Winter' 'ouch was milder mild-er this yeav than I can remember re-member f.r a long time. Somehov.' tlie winds weren't as chilling, the snow not as deep. His icy touch seem -ed somehow tempered. Perhaps Per-haps sven Winter tires of his own harshness, and now and then has to take a brief respite. Spring's been tiptoeing around the edges of the valley val-ley for weeks. The pale glow that preceeds the splash of summer color has been seen everywhere. But it's official now. Spring is here! March will soon go whistling whist-ling away. He's had a great time. . . flown kites, held that Hawk aloft on soaring wings, alternately chilled us and warmed us. . . eager to be Spring, but reluctant to let Winter pass. April will come in her own gentle way. Her paintings paint-ings will be soft and warm, not at all like Autumn's flagrant fla-grant canvas. She smiles gently and whispers promises promi-ses of new life to come. A green world is already al-ready in the making, as that mysterious force which prompts the bulb to send forth the shoot that will provide pro-vide its food and energy, begins to send its 'wake up' signals. The sap stirs . . . the seed swells . . .All await the perfect moment to burst into life. We welcome the warmth of Spring, the rain, the reassurance re-assurance of the rainbow, the wash of pastel tints, the soft sweet scents, the new growth that revitalizes the valley. The heart, as well as the eye, finds comfort in the Spring. Things we once feared fear-ed now seem surmountable, or at least acceptable. Life takes on new depth and meaning mean-ing when viewed in the gentle gen-tle light of Spring. The annual resurrection renews my faith in the cycle of Life. First the bud. . . then, the bloom. . . the seed, death and decay. But all tempered by the promise of new life. No matter what season of life we are in Youth's Springtime Age's Winter, or somewhere in between, Life has much to offer and we have much to contribute-Never contribute-Never is it more apparent than in the Spring.
