Show The Beaver County Fair Is shaping up fast, for a gala three days. .An added attraction is a iuu nedgea Rodeo sanctioned by the Rocky Mountain Rodeo Assn. The Rodeo will be heldWed-nesday heldWed-nesday evening beginning at 6:00 p.m. It will boast bull riding, bronc riding, clowns and all the regular events. Local entries should contact Janice Roberts or Bruce Brown in Beaver, for details. There has been some confusion con-fusion about the Air Show. It's, a model airplane show, witn local competitors flying their modelplanesby remote control. They may not be the Blue Angels, or Barnstorm -ers perform lng death defying maneuvers, but there, will be m ore thrills and spills than you can Imagine as the pilots guide their planes through loops and spins by radio con -trol. . - 0 - The Fair Board have so much entertainment planned it will keep you hopping to keep up for the three days, and there is too much planned plan-ned for us to list here. But the Fair Premium List, with a full schedule of events is printed in this issue. Be sure to take It out and keep it for reference. It gives all the details on entering exhibits as well. - 0 - It looks as if Milford is almost certain to get an Air Force base if MX is built, and that's almost a certainty. cer-tainty. Governor Matheson and the State MX Task Force have given their blessing to the North Escalante site as' recommended by the Four County MX Policy Board. This unanimous recom -mendation from Utah will un- doubtedly Influence the decision de-cision on the base site all the way to the Pentagon. Congress has funded half of the MX to be deployed in Nevada and Utah, with the other half awaiting the EE evaluation of split basing. bas-ing. From this writer's viewpoint, view-point, it seems unlikely that spilt basing will be utilized, and all the missiles will be deployed in Nevada and Utah. It would seem that the only possible deterrent to MX deployment de-ployment now, would be for a new administration to scrap MX, as Carter did the B-l Bomber in 1977, and this is highly unlikely.wlth the nation clamoring for more national defense. So, it's time we, locally, get on with planning for the growth, and be able to take advantage of the positive things that will come our way. if we are ready. Then there will be Church Exhibits and Commercial displays and concessions, so you can stay right at the Fair and not miss a single thing. An added attraction is a walk through missile, a mock up of the MX, with Air Force Personnel on hand to answer your questions. And don't forget the State Fair Booth contest. All or--' . ganizations are eligible to compete for the opportunity of designing a booth for Beaver Bea-ver County at the Utah State Fair. Winner will receive $1,000. from the Beaver County Commission, and the right to build the Beaver County Booth in the Horticulture Horti-culture Building at the Utah State Fair. Your entry should be representative rep-resentative of BeaverCounty or a segment of county life. It must have a theme to qualify for prizes at the State Fair. Your design entry at the County Fair can be a miniature replica of the actual booth, or a detailed plan drawn out on paper. A complete premium list is printed in this week's is -sue.
