Show Land snap approved A proposed exchange of 1,357 acres of public land near the Bingham open pit copper mine for 1,473 acres of Private land in the Camp Williams military reservation has been approved ap-proved by Secretary of the Interior Cecil Andrus. Most of the public lands involved are administered 'by the BLM. In 1975, Kennecott contacted con-tacted the Utah National Guard concerning a proposed land exchange. The BLM was later contacted by the Department De-partment of Army concerning con-cerning the proposed revocation revo-cation of withdrawal and exchange ex-change of military lands. The public lands are in 53 separate parcels. The private land beingex-changed beingex-changed by Kennecott is in six parcels within Camp Williams Wil-liams military reservation, which is a major training facility for the Utah National Guard. |
