Show on their way to Texas to visit one of Jeff's friends and will return back to Beaver to visit some more before returning home to Idaho. Clark and Carol Smith were at the Salt Lake In-ernational In-ernational Airport on the 29th of March, anxiously awaiting the 9:30 a.m. flight from Texas. Their son, Michael, who had served in the Houston, Texas mission for two years returned to Utah (safe and sound) on that flight. Other family members, mem-bers, Eddie, John, andSusan Smith, had to remain at home to take care of the chores so while waiting for Mike's arrival, they polished and decorated his car with blue and white streamer, and a big sign that read, "Welcome "Wel-come Home! BigTex."Mich-ael BigTex."Mich-ael was honored with a welcome wel-come horn e dinner by the f am -ily at the home of John and Susan Smith last Sunday and also reported on his mission mis-sion activities at Sacrament Meeting in the Second Ward that evening. Carolyn Williams of Greenville accompanied BEAVER BUZZIN'S Carol Hutchings... .Phone 438-5516 Kevin and Laurie Lee to Pro -vo last week where she spent a few days visiting with her friend, Joan Hutchings. Carolyn has been attending Beauty College in Cedar, but had to have surgery on her knee so she has been recuperating at home. Kari White and Nalani White went toCedarCity last week and spent the evening with Linda Hutchings. There were many people from Beaver in Salt Lake City last weekend to attend the LDS World Conference. Confer-ence. Some of those in attendance at-tendance at the conference were Leo and Naomi White and family, Bishop and Mrs. Terry Henrie, Bishop and Mrs. Burton Myers, Bishop and Mrs. Sheldon Roberts, President and Mrs. Paul Nielson and President and Mrs. Jim Morgan. Fred Puffer, Sr., recently had knee surgery and has been confined in the Dixie Memorial Hospital in St. George. He returned home to Northcreek last week and seems to be getting along pretty good. Sam and Vickie Hutchings and Jeff Williams were in Provo on the 29th of March to be with Julie Ann while she competed for State FFA Sweetheart. They attended a banquet that evening and were very proud of Julie when she was awarded the State Farmer Degree in FFA. Julie Ju-lie Ann is president of the local FFA Chapter and is the first girl to be elected president of this club. Arlo, Ila, Ann and Merle Messinger spent the Easter weekend in Boise, Idaho with Arlo's brother and family, Fay and Iva Messinger. Superintendent Lynn Has-lem, Has-lem, his wife, Joan, and Arlo Ar-lo and Ha Messinger, Beaver Bea-ver members of the School board, were in Anaheim, California Cal-ifornia last week to attend ' a School Board Convention. recently returned home after af-ter spending two weeks in Midland, Texas with her daughter and husband, Kenneth Ken-neth and Sherrie Gray and their four children. While on her trip, Afton also visited visit-ed places of interest in Mexico. Mex-ico. On the 9th of March, Mrs. Marlow (Lenore) Plumb caught a flight from Salt Lake City to Lake Charles, Louisiana Lou-isiana where she was met by her daughter and husband, Jim and Leslie Rasch who live there. Lenore reported report-ed having a most enjoyable visit with her daughter. Later Lat-er in the month, Marlow and Todd Plumb,David,RuthAnn and Amanda Bradfield drove to Lake Charles and met the rest of the family there. They were able to tour Baton . Rouge, and New Oreleans, also Galvaston, Houston, and San Antonio, Texas. They all returned to Beaver last Saturday. Sat-urday. Recently, Mrs. Kate Reynolds Rey-nolds enjoyed a visit from her son, Clair and Connie Reynolds, and two sons from Oregon. Her daughter, Mrs. Brent (Lorraine) Palmer from Cedar City, who was recuperating from major surgery also spent a week visiting with her. Jeff and Lori Blanc from Boise, Idaho spent part of their vacation in Beaver last week with her parents, Alma and Mickey Lowe and other family members. Theywere Last Saturday, Kennethand Helen Hutchings, Shirlee Best, and Connie Hutchings drove to Beaver from Provo to visit with their parents and grandparents, Glen and' Evelyn Hutchings. Alan and I, in company with Kay and VeloyAshworth and Lyle and Nancy Morten -sen spent an enjoyable day at the St. George Temple on the 29th of March. It was doubly special because it was the occasion of our twenty -third wedding anniversary. Andrew An-drew and Elda Terry also spent some time at the Temple Tem-ple that day. William Michael A shworth and Shari Olpin were united unit-ed in marriage on the 22nd day of March. The wedding ceremony was held outside on the deck of the Olpin home and was performed by Bishop Bish-op E. Terry Henrie. After the wedding, a dinner was held at the Ponderosa Cafe for all the wedding guests and to honor the young couple. There were many out-of-town relatives and friends here to attend the wedding and reception. Among those here to witness the wedding ceremony wereMr.andMrs. RoyD. Olpin andMrs. Charles Char-les McBride from Fillmore; Mr. and Mrs. Pat McBride from Ephraim; Lee and Sally Smith and Linda Bennion from Las Vegas, Nevada; Mr. and Mrs. David Bown, Helen and Terry Gillies, Ann Cart-wright Cart-wright and Lesa Kipps from Salt Lake City; Betty Bonn and Suzie Bullock from Provo; Pro-vo; Gerald and Helen Ash-worth Ash-worth from Orem; Don and Helen A shworth from Ely, Nevada; Leslie Olpin, Honolulu; Hon-olulu; and Doug and Susan Albrecht and two children from Minersville. Good friends of Michael's, Paul and Al Bradshaw, Billie Anderson, An-derson, and Bruce and Jana Wilson, all formerly of Beaver, Bea-ver, who have employment in Grants, New Mexico, were here for the wedding also.
