Show UJoGforn coalition to drarj public land GiaiGG fonofhor The response has been great so far, Wally Fother-ingham Fother-ingham said, "and we expect a good turnout to our public lands seminar on August 27-28 27-28 in Milford." Fotheringham is president of the Beaver County Land Users Ass'n., host organization organi-zation for the seminar. "We hope public land users from all walks of life and persua-will persua-will join us here in Milford, to form a coalition of Western West-ern States to work for repeal of the 'Organic Act of 1976'." sions will join us here inMil-ford, inMil-ford, to form a coalition of Western States to work for repeal of the 'Organic Act of 1976." Actually, the "Organic Act" and all its rules and regulations is only one of our goals, but an important one, and one we give high priority. We also urge return re-turn to constitutional government, gov-ernment, a halt of the bureaucratic bu-reaucratic take-over, and government by the people, for the people. The Beaver County Land Users will hold a meeting this Friday, August 19th, in the Milford Library basement base-ment to complete final details de-tails for the Seminar, August 27-28. Our little group is mostly miners, Fotheringham said. But we welcome all land users to join us. We may be more concerned about losing the Mining Law of 1872 than cattlemen, sheepmen, recreational rec-reational vehicle owners, hunters, fishermen or anyone any-one who uses public lands, either for business or pleasure. plea-sure. But the "Organic Act" is not discriminatory. It will run everyone out of the mountains and off public land. Utah is two -thirds public land. Nevada is over 80 percent per-cent public land. We and other public land states must stick together. And public land users must also stick together, whether we use public lands to make a living, or for pleasure. We hope everyone who has an interest in public lands will attend our meeting Friday Fri-day at 8:00 p.m. and the Public Land Seminar on August 27-28. |
