Show Whoa BoyJ, Supt. Haslem reports that the figures in ' the frontpage story on school operating funds are way off. Best we can figure is that the Utah Foundation mixed up figures for Box Elder County with Beaver County. The Superintendent says the actual funds in the local budget are more near $1,-800,000 $1,-800,000 than the reported $8,589,434, released by the Utah Foundation. The COUNTY NEWS apologizes for the mix-up. But if you're interested in the actual figures fig-ures in the school district budget, set aside June 30 and attend the budget hearing, hear-ing, starting at 10:30 a.m. In the district office. -0- Gee WhiUikers, is it ever going to slow down this summer? sum-mer? Seems like we got reved up about Christmas, and the throttle stuck. We've been in high gear ever since. -0- Good news, we think? Mayor May-or Young says that he hopes to get the flag pole up this week. Just in time for Flag Day, Monday. We hope he's sincere, since the job has been put off far too long already. -0- Something new for the COUNTY NEWS is LulaBet-enson's LulaBet-enson's book, "Butch Cas-sidy, Cas-sidy, My Brother". We'll be handling it for the BYU Press, who published it. The book, the true story of Robert LeRoy Parker, alias Butch Cassidy, was written by his sister from Circleville. Butch was known to have frequented Beaver County and Milford in his heyday, and many oldtimers remember his family. -0- It's truly a book of interest to local folks. Other publications publica-tions also available at the COUNTY NEWS of interest to historical -minded residents resi-dents and former residents are, ,cMilford's First 100 Years". Published during Milford's Centennial in 1973, the proceeds of this book go to the Milford Historical Society. So-ciety. "Geology of Milford" is a publication of the University Univer-sity of Utah and adds local color and history as well as much information on geology and mining activity in the area. Also of interest to history buffs, and a wonderful souvenir, sou-venir, is the "Historic Building Build-ing Calendar", produced by the Civic Arts Council. All are available at the COUNTY NEWS . We'll be happy to mail if necessary. -0- The Legion Auxiliary Poppy Pop-py Sale on Memorial Day weekend was successful as usual. Our youngest, Kelli, wanted to help sell the pretty flowers, so we gave her a few and let her peddle them in front of the shop. Everything was fine until one young fellow rode up on his bike. He wanted one but, alas, no money. At this point, Kelli, wanting to make a sale in the worst way, said "I'll buy it for you!" Well, after all, it's all in the name of charity. -0- Ever notice how one person's per-son's error can be perpetuated perpetu-ated by others in a succession succes-sion of bumbling? It happened happen-ed to us this week. Monday, one of our youthful youth-ful employees proceeded to set type on our photo compositor. com-positor. Shortly she reported report-ed it was out of order and not working. The old 'Redhead', already behind, hurried back to correct cor-rect the situation. Checked bulb, checked switch, checked check-ed mechanical parts.
