Show Pat Gonder finally went to Delta last Tuesday and Wednesday Wed-nesday AM and presented Owen and the kids with a baby girl. There is another couple out here that's hoping for a new one, around the 4th of 1 July. It was good to hear that we have the bookmobile out here for another year. We all hope that next time they can work it so maybe we all could have it once a month. Billie Osborne has been in St. George for a few days. While down there she has been doing some temple work. Tracy Davies is now at BYU, doing a lot of studying and lots is required in her wish to be a nurse. Two years really goes by fast. Fun and games in Baker. Early Saturday, Jerry and Jay Ambrose caught and killed an old 'she' cougar. It had been around Pete and Pauline's house where it had killed their dog last week. Be careful of that large kit-j kit-j ty. ' 1 Friday night, Bud and Gen Richardson drove to Ely to do weekly shopping and some visiting. Then Saturday afternoon af-ternoon to Delta andSheriff's business. Two days in Salt Lake were enough for Mollie and Wayne Gonder. They hurried through the meetings, visiting visit-ing and returned to our snail pace life out here, i With these CB radios, eve- : ryone tells everyone else where a 'smokey' (that's either ei-ther a highway patrol car or sheriff) is. Well, this trucker truck-er didn't believe our 40-mile speed limit, so our deputy sheriff, Bud Richardson, I made a believer out of him. He will go a lot slower next time and he also informed his fellow drivers behind him about that mean deputy in Garrison. Mean wasn't really real-ly the word he used, but you can't use naughty words on the radio. Austin Williams and Hubert Hu-bert Davis are out on the highway and they will 1 looking look-ing after the cow signs now, so I shan't worry about the one at the 42-mile post. She looks PG again. Remember It's never too late to mend, because the older we become, the more repairs we need. And also, for every hour of anger, you waste 60 minutes of happiness. hap-piness. (Left over from last week) Jo Ann and Hubert Davis are almost settle d in their new trailer, which is a real beauty. They have been moving mov-ing for about a month, but it is hard to decide where to put everything and also those things that she had misplaced are turning up. During the past holidays there was an ice skating get-together held over on Silver Creek Reservoir. Lots of falls, food and fun. ' While Betty Baker was in Reno attending a JP School, Fred was just working all the time. He couldn't even go flying, as the plane was in the hospital in Provo for its annual check-up. So the day we had a bad snow, Fred and Betty went after their plane. Fred flew home the next day in an hour and a half and Betty had to drive the car. It only took her about five hours to come home. There was a little snow, so Bud and Gen Richardson mo tored to Bountiful to spend the weekend with daughters, Donna and RaNae and, of course, those cute grand-kids. grand-kids. Cecil and LaRue Rowley are back up in Salt Lake for a doctor's check-up. Sunday, the 11th, and Pat Gonder is still out here. Maybe May-be this coming week will bring us a new baby (girl). Saturday nite, there was a baby shower, of gifts only, for the much-looked-for event of Rhea and Tom Dear-den. Dear-den. Lots of those soft, cute and some practical things. Billie and Glenn Osborne were hosts to Al and Stephanie Steph-anie Licht for Sunday dinner. Billie hasn't for gotten how to cook after her retirement. Margaret Bozarth of Baker Bak-er is the lunchroom cook for the children over in Nevada, and here in Garrison. Daisy Gonder is the dishwiper. Both those gals sure do dish up the goodies. We went down to Kay and Larry Calderwood's last evening to get a basic idea of how to play that game of Bridge. It was fun, but all night long. I was doing bidding bid-ding and re -dealing and doing do-ing some of the things right. It sure isn't Canasta. I believe the award for miles traveled today, Monday, Mon-day, should go to Austin and Arvilla Williams. Austin went south early this AM in the state truck and a little while later, Arvilla drove to Delta. How's that for going your own way? Fred also drove to Delta to get that black gold, coal. Good heavens, that stuff is high, but sure is a nice and warm heat during these cold days and nights. These fast trips to Salt Lake on business. The other day was another one and we didn't even call our gals. Well, a few days later, our Karen called and asked, in a nice way, why we didn't call. Caught again. Will we ever learn? Daisy and Emerson were in Salt Lake and all that running run-ning around. They came home to rest. Remember the morning prayer! Thank you, Lord, for granting me this new day In my life; especially since I loused up yesterday so badly. bad-ly. Amen!! |
